On Friday, Ms. Green’s classes practiced writing descriptively and informatively by observing sunflowers, listing their observations, and then expressing them in a paragraph. The lesson was fun and creative for all! 🌻

In honor of National Custodian Day, we’re celebrating Mr. Chris, Ms. Holly, and Mr. Riley—the BEST custodians! 💙 From keeping Collins Intermediate sparkling to tackling messes and lending a helping hand, they do so much to make our school a welcoming place for students and staff.

🛑 ZERO TOLERANCE: STOP FOR SCHOOL BUSES 🛑

The Scottsboro Police Department maintains a zero tolerance policy for illegally passing a stopped school bus.

When a school bus is stopped with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, drivers are required to stop when prohibited from passing under Alabama law. These laws exist for one reason: to protect our children as they enter and exit the school bus.

Our officers have been and will continue to actively enforce school bus passing laws throughout our community. Drivers who choose to disregard a stopped school bus and place a child’s safety at risk should expect enforcement action.

Please slow down, stay alert, and know when you are required to stop. A few moments of patience behind a school bus are insignificant compared to the potential consequences of passing one illegally.
