Anyone with kids in Georgia, elementary through high school, who would like to participate, please reach out to me - it does not have to be through a school - could be a scouting group, after-school club, or just an individual who is interested. Prizes available at the state and national level.

In celebration of National Career Development Month

Do any of my Georgia friends have a connection to a school, maybe a counselor or teacher in art or writing, or art or poetry club? Please consider offering this contest to the students (there are nice gift card prizes at the state level, and more prizes at the national level along with recognition on websites and at the national conference next June. Due to the current Covid-19 virus situation, I have transferred all of my business to internet video sessions, using a HIPAA compliant, secure video platform. During this time of uncertainly, you may find yourself considering a change in your employment, whether that be a new job, or new career. Now is a good time for planning. I imagine many people feel they have better things to think about, other than changing jobs or careers. I know many are worried about their current jobs- I too feel some of that, knowing I may not have as many clients in the coming weeks. Some people are scrambling to figure out how they will work from home. Some are concerned about being required to work in places with public contact, especially healthcare. Some have the additional responsibility of making sure kids follow-through with their education that may have moved online.

So much will be different for us for at least a few weeks, possibly longer. A crisis such as this often has people rethinking many things. I hope it has us all appreciating what we do have. Take the time you need to refocus, and for those clients that I'm currently working with, I will understand if you need to delay your process for changing jobs/careers. I will be ready when you are. I also want to remind you that I do have secure Internet video-conferencing as an option for meeting - again, whenever you are ready. Stay safe.

Getting a good response to the "Moms in Transition" workshop. Be sure to sign up soon to save your spot. If the dates don't work, let me know as I plan to offer future sessions and would welcome your input. Could consider evenings or weekends. I also use office space in Duluth, so might have one there in the future. Please share with any moms you know who would find it helpful.

I'm so excited to be starting up a new group/workshop: Moms in Transition - Career Workshop. A great opportunity for moms who have been out of the paid employment scene while taking care of their family, to help find a path to what's next for them. Down the road, I hope to offer something similar for Dads, or consider a mixed group, but starting with the moms, because I hear from them often, and know there is a huge need for this. , , , ,
