The first thing is that even those pigs, and bears, and people, who seem to have got everything in life all sorted out... they probably haven’t. Actually, everyone has days when they feel Not Very Okay At All. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.
“And the second thing you need to know... is that it’s okay to feel Not Very Okay At All. It can be quite normal, in fact. And all you need to do, on those days when you feel Not Very Okay At All, is come and find me, and tell me. Don’t ever feel like you have to hide the fact you’re feeling Not Very Okay At All.

🌟Collage & Cocoa🌟

6pm – 7:30pm

🌟Join me at the beautiful, newly renovated Village Venu in Scott Twp for a Pop-Up Art Class. Help foster your tween or teen’s passion for art with this fun and educational approach to pastel drawing!

🌟This 90 minute class will introduce your child to collage with this seasonal hot cocoa cup & gingerbread man directed drawing.

🌟We’ll start with a directed drawing lesson to draw a wintery scene of hot cocoa and gingerbread. After drawing, we’ll explore collage techniques to complete our artwork. At the end of the evening, student artists will have a chance to enjoy a hot cocoa bar designed just for them!

🌟All supplies will be provided.

🌟Parents may drop off or stay and the enjoy the atmosphere at the Village Venu. A hot cocoa bar will be provided for each child in attendance.

💗Thank you to everyone who joined me last night for Drawing & Donuts: a Pop Up Class for Tweens & Teens!

🍩We had blast learning about perspective drawing, dry & oil pastels, and famous artists while snacking on donuts at the beautiful Village Venu!

This 90 minute class will introduce the beauty of oil & chalk pastels while learning the magical tricks that linear perspective provides.

After learning to draw these sweet treats, we'll wrap up the evening with a donut (or two) for the ride home as well! Both the drawings and the fun will be delicious!

🎨 Let’s take a poll? 🎨

🎨What’s your favorite art medium? I’ll start, I love working digitally- Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, and, well, yes, Canva are my jam!

🎨Traditionally though, I LOVE working with colored pencil and watercolor together. I love the way watercolor sets a base for building up colored pencils creating rich vibrant hues. I also love working with collage material - so much versatility.

🎨I guess it’s hard to pick a favorite- how about you?

PRODUCT 🎨 FEATURE

🎨 This artist boot camp explores five (5) different commonly used dry media (graphite pencil, colored pencil, collage, marker, and stippling) in the middle school or high school art rooms. This unit offers technical practice and results in a hallway-worthy, exhibitable, original art piece.

“The majority of my students were highly engaged. Some struggled with drawing the chess pieces, so I allowed them to trace their own work from a piece of copy paper using a light table. This alleaved the stress of getting it perfect on their final paper.

It was a great resource for practicing several different mediums in one place. “
