🦁💙🙏A Powerful Week of Preparation at Teays Valley Christian School🙏💙🦁

What a tremendous week it has been as we welcomed our Teays Valley Christian School teachers and staff back for the 2026–2027 school year! This week was about far more than preparing classrooms—it was about preparing hearts, minds, and our entire school family for another year of serving Christ and our students. We introduced our theme, “Christ Over Culture,” and challenged each staff member to identify five specific ways they can give 1% more effort in their individual roles to become better educators, leaders, and servants.

Our staff also spent the week growing professionally and preparing to serve our students well through CPR training, Security & Safety Training, FERPA Training, Mandatory Reporter Training, IOWA 2026 Assessment Data Analysis, IXL training, and Classroom.Cloud training. We enjoyed some fun and fellowship through Minute to Win It team-building activities, worked together to create a Welcome Back video, and had the privilege of welcoming our students and families back into the building during Open House. It was a full week of learning, preparation, laughter, teamwork, and excitement for what God has in store.

But perhaps the most meaningful moment of the entire week came when we gathered together for a powerful prayer walk throughout our entire school building on Friday afternoon. Our staff prayed over every classroom, the gym, lunchroom, hallways, administrative areas, playground, parking lot, and main entrance. We prayed over our students, families, teachers, administrators, coaches, and every person who will walk through our doors this year. The presence of the Holy Spirit was deeply evident during this special time. We were reminded that while training and preparation are important, our greatest need is to place this school year completely in the hands of Jesus.

As we begin this new school year, we are excited, expectant, and committed to living out our theme: Christ Over Culture. We are ready to serve, ready to grow, and ready to give that 1% more—all for the glory of God and the good of our students. What a blessing it is to begin another year together as the Teays Valley Christian School family!

We are in the final countdown to the start of the 2026-2027 school year at TVCS. We are so excited!!! Tomorrow night kicks off the year with Open House, and Monday is the first official day of school. We are looking forward to seeing everyone back in the building. 💙🦁🤍

Shout out to our Senior, Hunter Armentrout, and the crew for refinishing the Jack Shomo Davis gym floor. Hunter was a toddler in 2012 when his father David Armentrout and grandparents replaced the original gym floor. Now Hunter gave it a bright new finish as he embarks on his final year at Teays Valley Christian. Hunter has been at TVCS since kindergarten! Proud of you Hunter and thank you to Armentrout Hardwoods for another job well done!!🦁💙💪
