We’re excited to see everyone! Here are a few details to help your day run smoothly:

💚 Everyone is welcome! Whether you are just starting out or have competed for years, we’d love to have you. Honest Gaming Series is all about having fun, building confidence, and enjoying a great day with your horse!

‼️IF YOU ARE COMING FROM STAYTON, DO NOT TURN ON COLE SCHOOL ROAD. DRIVE-THROUGH SCIO. Better roads through Scio‼️

📝 Entries
Entries received after Thursday at midnight will be considered late entries and will have a late fee.

Day-of entries are welcome and will be accepted at the show.

💵 Payment
We accept cash, check or Venmo.

📋 Draw
The draw will be posted Friday at 12:00 PM. Riders entering after the draw is posted will be added to a late draw, which will be available at the show.

🕢 Gates Open: 7:30 AM
Please plan your arrival accordingly, as the property will not be open for entry before 7:30 AM.

🏆 High Point Awards will be presented at the end of the day for the Novice and Open divisions.

🚗 Plenty of parking is available.

🚻 A porta potty will be available on-site.

🐶 Please leave your dogs at home. Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted due to insurance requirements.

🌾 Please respect our property. Stay within the designated event areas and avoid entering any areas marked as private or off-limits.

🤝 Good sportsmanship matters. Cheer one another on, encourage new riders, and help us create a fun, welcoming environment for everyone.

🧁 MEET CUPCAKE! 🧁

Cupcake was a blessing that came completely out of the blue, and we are so excited to welcome her to the Honest Equine family.

She’ll be joining our lesson program, and she is literally as sweet as they come. She LOVES kids, loves attention and absolutely loves being treated like the little princess she knows she is. 👑

If you’ve been around horses long enough, you know most mini ponies named Angel, Sweetheart, or Cupcake are usually anything BUT. 😂 But this little girl? Her name represents her perfectly. God baked this one with a little extra sugar. 🧁🤍

And she’s not just a pretty face! Cupcake is a great little show horse with quite a few talents of her own. We may even get to see her showing some of them off in OHSET this year! 🦄 ✨

I have a feeling she’s going to teach a whole lot of kids, build a whole lot of confidence and be spoiled in the process.

Lil Boots Camp 2026 — that’s a wrap! 🐴🤠✝️

This week ended up teaching us some pretty BIG lessons — and the first one came before we even got started.

With the wildfire smoke rolling in, our plans had to change. Instead of riding hard and doing the drills that were planned, we talked about what it means to put our horses first. We learned that being a good horseman isn’t just about how well you ride — it’s paying attention, changing the plan, and taking care of the horse that takes care of you 🤎

The kids asked questions, got dirty, laughed and spent plenty of time loving on the horses.

They learned how to groom, tack up, sit center, slide their hands, feed, bathe horses, cleaned stalls and understand a little more about how these incredible animals work.

However, the lessons weren’t only just about horses. We opened our Bibles! We talked about Noah’s Ark, the Good Samaritan and Adam & Eve. We talked about God, kindness, obedience, taking care of others, making good choices and what those stories can teach us in our own lives.

My main goal was for these kids was to learn more than how to ride a horse. I wanted them to learn WHY we care for them. It turns out lil boots can learn some pretty big lessons.

Thank you to every family who trusted me with their kiddos this week and to our amazing horses who continue to be some of the very best teachers we could ever ask for.

HORSE 101: Smoke - What can you do for your horse? 🔥

Wildfire smoke doesn’t just affect us, it affects our horses too!

💦 WATER 💦
One of the most important things you can do is provide FRESH and CLEAN water. Smoke can irritate their respiratory tract and staying hydrated helps keep their airways moist.

Make sure to check their buckets and troughs throughout the day. If ash has settled in their water, dump it and scrub it out then fill with fresh water.

🐴 RIDING 🐴
The bad air quality makes your horse’s lungs have to work harder just to breathe. During this time it’s important ‼️NOT‼️ to hard work your horse. A hard ride, competition or long exercise workout will cause heavy breathing. Pulling more smoke and particles into their lungs.

Instead:
💡take this time to love on your horse!
💡Work on a showmanship pattern
💡give them a pamper day
💡even walk around ba****ck!
💡if you ride - ride at a WALK only. You could work on your hands/reins dexterity, work on your position or even bridleless cues!
💡Anything that spends time with your horse without heavy exercise.

🏠 BARN OR PASTURE 🏠
It depends on your setup. If your horse has access to a pasture with good airflow, they will be more comfortable outside.

If your horse is stalled, put up a box fan to increase the air flow and circulation. Misters help alot too!

⛑️NEBULIZER⛑️
Yes, but after the smoke has cleared. A nebulizer is a great tool for helping the airways recover once the smoke has passed. During heavy smoke, however, you don’t want to encourage deeper smoke airflow into lungs.

⭐️HONEST OPINION⭐️
If I take a deep breath and it burns my lungs, stings my throat, or makes me cough… they feel the same way. There will always be another day to ride - they only get one set of lungs.

I believe the best lessons aren’t just learned in the saddle—they’re learned through kindness, courage, curiosity and discovering why we do what we do with our horses and in our Faith.

There are a lot of places to learn how to ride a horse. This Camp was created to be something more.

Over the last few days, these kids learned about horses, but they also learned about courage, perseverance, teamwork, kindness, and God’s Word. They solved riddles, laughed until they couldn’t breathe, got bamboozled more than once 😂, searched for hidden treasures, and built friendships I hope they’ll carry long after camp ends.

But underneath all of it was one simple goal:

To teach them to ask why and to listen to hear not to respond.

In my riding lessons, I tell my students all the time, “I don’t want you to do something because I told you to. I want you to understand why you’re doing it.” That’s how confidence is built. That’s how great horsemen and horsewomen are made.

I believe faith is the same way. I don’t want kids who can simply repeat Bible stories because an adult told them they were true. I want kids who ask questions, wrestle with ideas, seek answers, and discover truth for themselves. I want them to know why they believe what they believe.

Some of the best moments of camp weren’t the games or the prizes. They were the conversations that started with a simple question and turned into kids thinking deeply, listening to each other, and realizing that God isn’t afraid of honest questions!

Every game had a purpose. Every lesson pointed to something bigger. Every horse teachEd something different.

Watching these kids cheer each other on, grow in confidence, ask incredible questions, and leave with smiles that filled their face reminded me exactly why Honest Equine exists.

My hope has never been to simply create better riders. It’s to help educate kind, confident young people who know how to think, who aren’t afraid to ask why, who seek truth for themselves, and who know they are deeply loved by God.

This is the community I’ve dreamed about.

Thank you to every family who trusted me with your kids this week. I already can’t wait for next year. ❤️❤️❤️⭐️
