Free Sports Physicals, school supplies and clothing! There will also be resource tables at this event. It is August 18th at the Bible Family Fellowship Church (across from Scio High School). 14 and younger require a parent signature for the sports physical.

We know this isn’t Scio, but we would love to share this information to anyone in the community that could benefit from it!

We are partnering with Marion County Sheriff’s Office to hold a Car Seat Clinic on Tuesday, August 25, from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm.

Trained Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be available to assist parents and caregivers with checking car seat installations, proper harness fit, selecting the appropriate seat or booster for their child, and answering general child passenger safety questions. Additionally, if you need assistance purchasing a car seat, we may be able to assist you.

📣 EXCITING NEWS FOR OUR ROOM PARENTS & FAMILIES! 🎉

This school year, we have a new communication tool available through ParentSquare⁠, and I am SO excited about the possibilities it could provide for our Room Parent program! 💙💛

One of the biggest challenges with being a Room Parent has always been finding an easy way to communicate with all of the families in your classroom. ParentSquare is designed to bring classroom communication, organization, sign-ups, and family involvement together in one place.

✨ What could this mean for our Room Parents?

Room Parents may be able to use ParentSquare to help coordinate things like classroom parties and celebrations, volunteer opportunities, Field Day needs, classroom donations/supplies, reminders, event RSVPs, and other classroom activities throughout the year. The platform includes group and individual messaging, volunteer and supply sign-ups, event RSVPs, forms, scheduling, photos/files/links, and more.

Even better, families can receive communication in the way that works best for them—through the ParentSquare app, text, email, or web—and two-way messages can automatically translate into 190+ languages. 🗣️📱 Families can reply directly, helping make communication much more accessible and keeping everyone connected.

My hope is that this will make being a Room Parent easier, more organized, and less overwhelming—no more trying to create separate contact lists or juggling multiple ways of communicating. Everything can stay connected to our school community in one central place. 🙌

We are still learning exactly how ParentSquare will work for our district and how we can best utilize it with our Room Parent program, so there will be more information to come!

I’m really excited to explore it and hopefully make communication between our teachers, Room Parents, and families easier than ever. 💙💛

The Back-to-School Health & Resource Fair is a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with local organizations and receive additional support before school begins.
