Rosie is ready for her first day of puppy training!

Yesterday, our campers did some research before creating a plan.

Here are some questions they wanted to solve:

How to you stop a puppy from peeing on the floor? 🐕

How do you stop a puppy from biting? 🐶

How do you train a puppy to ride a skateboard ? 🛹

We have a fun week ahead getting to work/play with Rosie and meeting our other mystery pets arriving later today!!

Every week, our DCLC learners get to lace up and head straight into the heart of Skippack — not for a field trip, but because this village is part of our classroom.

We wave to shop owners, grab a treat from a local favorite like B͏l͏o͏s͏s͏o͏m͏ C͏a͏f͏e͏ , and get our steps in with friends by our side.

This is what community-powered learning looks like: real relationships, real places, real people who want to knownus by name.

Our learners thrive when they see themselves as part of something bigger than the four walls of a schoolhouse.

As conversations around AI takeovers become more common, we are focused on what it means to be human and part of a community.

This week at SUMMER CAMP we deepened relationships by cooking real food, enjoying fresh air and getting puppy snuggles with our latest addition to DCLC .... meet Rosie Decker, the cutest mini bernedoodle in town!

If that's you, DCLC is hiring a Guide for the 2026–27 school year.

Here's what the job actually is: no lesson plans to deliver, no worksheets to grade, no bell deciding when curiosity has to end. Just real kids doing real work, and an adult in the room who's more interested in what they're capable of than in keeping them quiet.

We started DCLC in 2019 because we thought there was a better way to do this — for kids, and for the grown-ups who spend their days with them. Six years in, we're looking for someone who wants to continue to build that with us.

What we're looking for:
— You'd rather coach than correct.
— You think a kid's bad question is more interesting than their right answer.
— You're comfortable not being the smartest person in the room on purpose.

This is a normal afternoon at DCLC — five kids, one swing, zero adults telling them how to share it. They worked that out themselves.
