The countdown to the Hurricanes vs. Blue Mountain Eagles is on, and we’re ready to bring the Haven pride all week long! 💙💛

Middle School students, it’s time to show your spirit, have some fun, and get ready to Jinx the Eagles!

📅 SHAMS SPIRIT WEEK | September 8–11

🪖 TUESDAY, 9/8 — Camo the Eagles / Camouflage Day
Blend in, stand out, and get ready for game week! Wear your favorite camouflage gear.

🌴 WEDNESDAY, 9/9 — Tropical Storm / Beach Day
Bring the tropical vibes to SHAMS! Hawaiian shirts, sunglasses, and sun hats are encouraged. (School-appropriate summer wear, of course!)

🦅 THURSDAY, 9/10 — Jinx the Eagles
Let’s give the Eagles a little bad luck! Wear Blue Mountain gear or go blue and white as we prepare to take them down!

The Schuylkill Haven Area Middle School took part in their PBIS refresher today. Fifth grade debuted their new cheer and everyone got to hear the official PBIS theme song!

All MS students will take part in PBIS kickoff Sept 4th.

Back to School, Back to Belonging 💙💛

There’s something special about seeing the halls of the Middle School come alive again. 💙

Tonight, our Schuylkill Haven Area Middle School welcomed students and families for Back to School Night—a wonderful evening filled with familiar faces, new beginnings, classroom visits, conversations, and plenty of excitement for the year ahead.

To our students: your teachers are ready, your classrooms are waiting, and a brand-new school year is yours to make your mark on.

To our families: thank you for being such an important part of the Hurricane family and for partnering with us as we help our students learn, grow, and discover their purpose.

And to our faculty and staff: thank you for creating a school where our students feel welcomed, supported, challenged, and believed in. ❤️

The halls of the Schuylkill Haven Area Middle School will soon be buzzing again, and we’re excited to welcome our students and families back for an evening of getting ready for a great school year!

Parents and guardians will have the opportunity to meet teachers, learn more about the upcoming school year, and get familiar with the building and expectations.

🌪️ Middle school students are encouraged to attend, too! This is a great opportunity for students to meet their teachers, see their classrooms, walk their schedules, and start the year feeling prepared and confident.

👋 Be sure to stop by and welcome Mrs. McGinty in her new role as Middle School Principal! While her role may be new, she is certainly no stranger to the Hurricane family. We’re excited to see her take on this new leadership role and continue making a difference in our school community.

Let’s kick off the 2026–27 school year together! We can’t wait to see our Hurricanes back in the halls! 💙💛

Behind the Scenes, Ahead of Schedule

Before the halls fill with students, classrooms come alive, and the familiar sounds of a new school year return, there is a tremendous amount of work happening behind the scenes. 💙💛

Today, we want to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to our incredible 12-month employees who have been working hard all summer to prepare our campuses and buildings for the return of our students and staff next week.

From cleaning and maintaining our facilities to making sure classrooms, common areas, grounds, and everything in between are ready to go, your dedication helps create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for our entire school community.

Your work may not always be in the spotlight, but it makes a huge difference.

We appreciate you, we thank you, and we are grateful for all that you do! 💙💛
