Schurz Elementary School Announcements:
SES Open House, Wednesday, Sept. 2nd @ 5:30pm - 6:30pm
NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 7th – Labor Day Holiday
Fall Picture Day, Wednesday, September 16th, packets coming soon.
NO SCHOOL on Friday, September 18th – Teacher In-Service

Please notify the school office as soon as possible, if your student will be absent from school for the day, please call 775-773-2323. If you do not notify the office within 3 days of absence your student will be marked as being truant. Students that were chronically absent last school year, we will start implementing an attendance contract. Principal West will be reaching out to students and parents regarding this matter.

School starts at 8:00am! Tardy bell is 8:05am!
School is dismissed @ 2:45pm for K-6th, Monday - Friday.

Pre-K School drop off is 8:15am, students must be here by 8:25am,
Pre-K students can be picked up starting at 2:15pm and all should be picked up no later than 2:25pm. Monday - Thursday.

🥳 The Grand Finale: Success Starts with Showing Up!
We have officially reached the final week of our Attendance Challenge! 🏆

Five weeks ago, we challenged our students to finish the school year strong, and wow… did they ever deliver! We are incredibly proud of our students' dedication to being in class, learning, and bringing their best energy every single day. Our classrooms have been full, vibrant, and bursting with energy right up to the finish line. ☀️🎒

To our amazing parents and families: THANK YOU. This success wouldn't have been possible without your partnership, morning routines, and daily dedication to getting your kids to school. You are our MVPs!

☀️ Schurz Elementary School: Summer School 2026! ☀️
Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to announce our upcoming SES Summer School Program! This year, our program offers a highly engaging, fast-paced schedule featuring daily rotating blocks in Math, ELA, STEAM, and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) tailored specifically for two groups: grades K–2 and grades 3–6.

Please review the key program details below:

Dates: Monday, June 2nd through Thursday, June 18th.

Days: 4 days a week (Monday through Thursday).

Times: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Noon) daily.

Transportation: Transportation is available for participating students.

If you are interested in having your child attend summer school, please let your child’s classroom teacher know as soon as possible so we can secure their spot and arrange transportation details!

SES Parents Guardians: Please be advised that we will not have after school bus transportation available for Thursday, May 21st, Friday, May 22nd, Tuesday, May 26th and Wednesday, May 27th. Sorry for this inconvenience. WRPT Boys/Girls Club will pick up club students after school on these days. Please contact the school should you need assistance, 775-773-2323.
