A letter to the most DECA-cated advisor 🌟💙

Dear Mrs. Peterson,

As your nearly 32 years of teaching and service to DECA come to an end, we’ve been reflecting on your journey as a teacher and mentor, as well as your innate ability to maintain passion for a subject and organization for such a period of time.

You once said that as a teacher and DECA advisor, your duty was to serve us, similar to how a business must serve their customers’ needs and wants. For each student you’ve taught, those wants and needs were different—and yet, with care, you met each one where they were. You held hands, lit fires, and helped us to blaze trails we will continue down for the rest of our lives.

The amount of students you have impacted is insurmountable. You taught us to believe in ourselves and push the boundaries of what we thought was possible. You exposed us to new careers and ignited new passions. You made us want to dream the impossible, and some had enough nerve to accomplish those dreams.

For this reasons and thousands more, we are infinitely grateful for all that you have done for us and our community.

Thank you for an incredible year, Mrs. P., and a remarkable three decades. We couldn’t have done any of this without you (quite literally).

Our DECA End of Year Party and Senior Celebration was a success! 🎉🔷🙌

Thanks to all of our incredible members, we were able to make this year an amazing one! At our final DECA event of the year, we awarded Senior Superlatives voted on earlier in the week, played some fun games, had great food, and awarded DECA letters to SIX incredible members who have been dedicated to DECA throughout their high school careers. 🤍

We hope you had a great year with DC Everest DECA—stay tuned for more next year, where we will GO THE EXTRA ⚡️⚡️

DC EVEREST DECA will be having our end of year party during ELT on May 22nd! There will be games, food, and prizes, so stop by for however long you want to end your DECA season on a high note!
