Two students from LCTI’s welding program will each vie for $10,000 at Project MFG championships this spring. Parkland High School senior Michael Evans is one of only 24 competitors to earn a berth at the National Welding League championship in May. Tucker Jayne is a Southern Lehigh High School senior who qualified to compete at the Maritime Welding national championship with his performance at Project MFG’s Philly Shipyard contest. Jestina Narvaez is one of three Lehigh Career & Technical Institute students who became SkillsUSA state champions this month after standout performances in Hershey, Pa. Representatives from AT&T visited LCTI earlier this month and led a workshop on how to use artificial intelligence in this office. Marketing & Entrepreneurship students were introduced to a variety of AI applications and how to use them effectively for routine tasks. A delegation of German education leaders traveled to Pennsylvania this month to visit standout schools across the commonwealth. On Thursday, they stopped by Lehigh Career & Technical Institute for a tour led by 12th-graders Isabella Quintero and Zaravy Ramirez P. Isabella and Zaravy study Early Childhood Education and Marketing & Entrepreneurship at LCTI, respectively. Members of the school’s Joint Operating Committee and administrative team joined them for the tour, which was organized in partnership with the PA School Boards Association. This is how we lead!

Members of LCTI's HOSA chapter stopped by Country Meadows this week and led a spring craft for residents! Ahead of HOSA's visit to the retirement community, Mr. Shirkness's Carpentry students made birdhouses and butterfly houses. HOSA members helped residents decorate the houses with paint and other materials. This is how we serve!

Students in LCTI’s Animal Sciences and Veterinary Technology programs spent time this week with Rambo and Kitty, two horses from Sterling Hill Stables in New Tripoli. They were joined by guest instructor, Dr. Tera Ramig, an equine veterinarian. She showed students how to conduct a physical exam on the horses, as well as how to restrain and groom them.

Congratulations to Savannah Hall, a Northern Lehigh High School senior in the Marketing & Entrepreneurship program at LCTI. She recently competed in the ninth annual Bloomsburg University Husky Dog Pound — a competition inspired by the TV show, “Shark Tank” — and won a cash prize. Savannah pocketed $175 for her business pitch. This is how we achieve!
