This summer, make reading a priority!

Words help us understand the world. They allow us to receive knowledge, tell stories, convey truth, inspire courage, lead nations, comfort the suffering, and love our neighbors well. Without strong reading comprehension, it becomes far more difficult to be a diligent student, an informed citizen, a productive member of society, or a helpful neighbor.

When we avoid the difficulty of reading to our children now, we often exchange it for greater difficulty for them later. Read together. Read daily. Read with joy.

Throwback to the last day of school!

Our 8th graders visited George Washington’s Mount Vernon, the Arlington National Cemetery, several monuments, and ended the evening with a ride on the Capital Wheel.
