HOSA-Future Health Professionals students recently brought their skills, focus, and preparation to state competitions across the country. Now, many of them are heading to the next stage: the 2026 HOSA International Leadership Conference in Indianapolis, June 17 through 20!

This year’s ILC marks HOSA’s 50th Anniversary and will bring together more than 15,000 HOSA members, advisors, alumni, partners, and health professionals from around the world. Competitors will participate in a wide range of health science and career-focused events, including the Biomedical Equipment Technician competitive event.

The College of Biomedical Equipment Technology (CBET) is proud to support HOSA students as they continue exploring careers in healthcare technology and preparing for the future of HTM. We are also excited to share that Lisa Gonzales, RBLP-T and Lesley Harrington, RBLP-T from CBET will serve as judges at this year’s competition, helping evaluate the next generation of future health professionals.

HOSA is still seeking judges for the 2026 International Leadership Conference. With 15,000 attendees and more than 100 events, judges play an important role in supporting students and shaping future health professionals. New and returning judges are encouraged to get involved. What a week at AAMI eXchange 2026 in Denver! The College of Biomedical Equipment Technology (CBET) team is heading home grateful for the conversations, connections, and time spent with so many people across the HTM community.

This year was a busy one for CBET! From meeting students, alumni, employers, partners, and industry leaders at booth #517, to supporting HTM education conversations throughout the event, AAMI gave us the chance to connect with the people who are helping move this field forward every day. We were proud to have several members of the CBET team contribute to the event through presentations, courses, and industry discussions, including Dr. Richard L. "Monty" Gonzales, Ed. D., Steve Gutierrez, John Schmidt, and Jim Doran. Their involvement across different areas of AAMI eXchange reflected CBET’s continued commitment to HTM education, workforce development, leadership, and collaboration.

CBET was also honored to collaborate with AAMI on the Healthcare Technology Management Leadership Development Course, a full-day program created for current and emerging HTM professionals looking to strengthen their leadership skills and better serve their teams, organizations, and patients.

Beyond the sessions and scheduled events, some of the best moments came from the conversations in between. We had the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new partners, hear from students and graduates, and talk with employers about the needs they are seeing across the HTM workforce.

Thank you to AAMI for hosting another meaningful eXchange, and thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared ideas, asked questions, took photos, or spent time with us throughout the week.

AAMI eXchange 2026 is almost here, and the College of Biomedical Equipment Technology (CBET) is ready for Denver!

Starting tomorrow, CBET will be joining HTM professionals, students, educators, employers, and industry partners from across the country for one of the biggest events in Healthcare Technology Management.

You’ll find CBET in the Expo Hall at Booth #517 throughout the event. Stop by, meet the team, ask questions, connect with us, and learn more about how CBET supports students, working professionals, employers, and the future HTM workforce.

CBET will also be part of several important education and leadership opportunities during AAMI eXchange, including the HTM Leadership Development Course on Friday, May 29, offered by AAMI in collaboration with CBET.

On Saturday, May 30, Dr. Richard L. "Monty" Gonzales, Ed. D. will speak during the symposium, “The Digital Backbone of Patient Care: Modernizing CE/HTM for Tomorrow’s Healthcare,” on the topic of preparing future generations through competencies and education.

For CBET students, especially those near Denver, this is a valuable opportunity to step into the larger HTM community, meet industry professionals face to face, and build connections beyond the classroom.

This Memorial Day, the College of Biomedical Equipment Technology pauses to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

As a college with deep ties to the military community, this day carries special meaning. We are grateful for the service members, veterans, military families, and industry partners who continue to shape and strengthen the Healthcare Technology Management field.

Memorial Day is a time to remember the cost of freedom and reflect on the sacrifice made by those who never returned home. Their courage, commitment, and service will not be forgotten.

The College of Biomedical Equipment Technology (CBET) was glad to attend and spend the evening with biomeds, clinical engineers, HTM professionals, and industry partners from across the DFW area. Events like this are a great reminder of how strong and connected the North Texas HTM community is. For CBET students and alumni in the North Texas area, HTMA-NTX is a great group to follow and get involved with as you build your network in the HTM field.

We also want to congratulate the new HTMA-NTX leadership team and thank Prescott's Med for co-sponsoring the event. We appreciate the work being done to bring HTM professionals together, support local connections, and keep momentum growing across the field.
