National School Counseling Week 2022, is celebrated February 7-11, 2022, to focus public attention on the unique contributions of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact SCUC ISD school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
School counselors are actively engaged in helping students examine their abilities, strengths, interests and talents; for working in a partnership with parents as they encounter the challenges of raising children in today’s world; for focusing on positive ways to enhance students’ academic, career and social/emotional development; and working with teachers and other educators to provide an educational system where students can realize their potential and set healthy, realistic and optimistic aspirations for themselves. School counselors are certified, experienced educators with a master’s degree in school counseling. The combination of their training and experience makes them an integral part of the total educational program.
Stay Safe and Warm!
The weather and road conditions have not improved enough to ensure a safe commute to and from school tomorrow. All extracurricular activities scheduled for Friday evening will be rescheduled.
Normal school operations will resume on Monday, February 7.
Continue to stay safe and warm.
All SCUC ISD schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, February 3.
After monitoring local weather forecasts closely, many of the forecast models are now consistently showing a good possibility of ice accumulation in our area, especially tomorrow afternoon. The commute home is a significant concern for our school bus drivers, staff, parents, and our high school students.
All extracurricular activities scheduled for tomorrow, February 3 are also canceled.
At this time, we plan to have a regular school day on Friday, February 4, which is a planned early release day. We will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions throughout the day on Thursday to make a decision about school on Friday. Our plan is to notify staff and parents before 4:00 p.m. tomorrow.
Stay safe and warm.
We will be selling spirit sticks tomorrow morning!! Front foyer from 7- until the bell rings.
All SCUC ISD schools and offices plan to resume normal operations tomorrow, Friday, January 21.
The SCUC Road Inspection Team will be out early Friday morning to assess the road conditions. If roads are deemed unsafe, we will make a decision and communicate with our community by 5:45 am.

The SCUC ISD Board approved the 2022-2023 School Calendar this evening at the monthly meeting.

All SCUC ISD schools and offices will close tomorrow, January 20.
With the staffing situation already stretched due to COVID-19 and the difficulty in filling open positions due to absences, the forecasted inclement weather could negatively impact our ability to have school. Additionally, many of our staff and substitutes live in areas of the local region that may be impacted by this inclement weather.
Local weather forecasts indicate there is a chance of frozen precipitation tomorrow, making traveling on roadways a concern, especially on bridges and overpasses.
The District plans to resume normal operations on Friday, January 21.
We will apply for a waiver to the state requesting that the district not have to make up the day. We will keep you updated on the status of the waiver.

The Gifted and Talented referral window is open through January 14, 2022.

We thank Sgt. Martin Treviño, Officer Gregg Flowers, Officer Richard Kunz and Officer Frank Schmidt of the Schertz Police Department.
We also thank Sgt. Homero Balderas, Officer Andrew Olivares, Officer Natalie Dahlstein, and Officer Joseph McComas of the Cibolo Police Department.
SCUC ISD schools and offices will be closed from December 20, 2021 through December 31, 2021 for the Winter Break.
Have a safe and joyful holiday season!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving….

We loved having our Veterans today!
Thank you for your service!
A special thanks to the Rose Garden PTC and volunteers that makes things like this happen!
Rose Garden will be hosting our annual Veteran's Day ceremonies on November 12th. Students are encouraged to invite their veteran(s) to honor during the following times. Veterans will need to check in at the front office when they arrive. There will be refreshments and coffee in the library for anyone who arrives early or has a gap in ceremony times.
There will be a short presentation of the Veterans followed by various activities for students to explore the various branches of the military. There will also be a photo booth for students and their veteran!
We are in need of volunteers to assist with student activities throughout the day. We are also in need of volunteers from various military branches and positions to host stations for students to learn. If you are interested in either volunteer opportunities, please use this sign up to do so. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0e4eadac2da5fd0-veterans
Veteran's Day Volunteers The Rotations team is also seeking volunteers to serve as stations where students can explore various military related jobs, uniforms, technology, and more. We are also seeking parent volunteers to help facilitate stations.
