Our pre-k teachers are the BEST!!! 🥰

Mrs. Wicker modeled that perfectly by sitting on the floor alongside a student and working through the learning together. She didn’t ask the student to come up to where she was. She went to where the student was.

That’s good teaching.

Meeting students where they are means recognizing that every learner has different needs, strengths, experiences, and starting points. Great teachers adjust their approach, their position, and sometimes even their perspective to help students take the next step.
Sometimes best practice looks like a carefully planned lesson. Sometimes it looks like sitting on the floor.

Either way, it’s about meeting students where they are and helping them get where they need to go.
