Making detailed observations and classifying objects are two important things scientists do. First graders selected a plant to observe and recorded how it looked, felt, and smelled. Our young third grade scientists came up with many different ways to classify frogs. All classes were so excited to see the tadpole change into a froglet. In a few short weeks, it will be a frog.

Our kindergarteners are taking their first steps toward becoming writers!
Writing journals are now part of our small-group rotations, where we’re learning all about what it means to be a writer. They are practicing drawing pictures to share their ideas, learning that letters come together to make words, and discovering where words belong on the page and how we use our writing lines.
These may be little beginnings, but they’re the start of something so exciting! Watching their confidence grow as they discover that they have stories and ideas to share is the sweetest.

In Middle School Spanish, students worked on their Campanada (bellwork) by creating quick sketches to illustrate a story. Once finished, they shared their drawings with classmates and had the opportunity to read their Campanada aloud in Spanish, pointing to elements in their illustrations as they described them. This activity encouraged creativity, storytelling, and confidence in speaking Spanish!
