Congratulations to Eleanor Peterson '26, who recently won national honors for her senior thesis in political science.

Her paper, “The Unitary Executive Theory Realized: The Office of Legal Counsel on Privilege, Removal, and National Security,” was recently named 2026 Best Undergraduate Honors Thesis (qualitative) by Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society.

President Kiss was quoted in The New York Times in an article exploring how colleges and universities are approaching artificial intelligence. Kiss joined higher education leaders from across the country in discussing the opportunities and questions AI presents for colleges as they consider its role in education and campus life.

The College’s new New York Garnet Guarantee will award virtually any New York student accepted for admission with a $30,000 annual scholarship.

Union College’s tradition of serving New Yorkers traces back more than 230 years to its founding in 1795 as the first college chartered by the state. Now, the College is reaffirming that longstanding commitment to its home state with the introduction of a powerful new financial aid investment exclusively designed to help New York students.

Any prospective first-year student who lives or attends high school in New York State, and who is not otherwise receiving financial support from a full tuition scholarship program, is eligible for the New York Garnet Guarantee.

A club for everyone! ⚡️

With more than 100 clubs and organizations to choose from, Union’s annual Club Expo gave students plenty of ways to find their people, try something new and get involved on campus.

Today, the Union community gathered to remember and honor those whose lives were lost on September 11, 2001.

Throughout the morning, the chimes of Memorial Chapel rang four times at each of the four moments when the attacks occurred, with four rings honoring the four Union alumni who were among those lost that day - Thomas Duffy ‘71, Don Kauth ‘74, Andrew Fredericks ‘83 and Alexander Steinman ‘91.

We remember their lives, the families and loved ones they left behind and the courage and sacrifice of the many who answered the call.
