The page of Elmer Avenue Elementary School. In 1908, four rooms were added at a cost of $10,000. Telephones were added as well.
Elmer Avenue School was built in 1905, with eleven rooms, at a cost of $29,700 and on the corner of Elmer and Eastern Avenues. Elmer Avenue School was the first public elementary school in New York State to have a school library as well as the first to have a full-time librarian.
We've been social distancing since June, 2016.

Remember! Tonight, from 4:00 to 8:00, Elmer Avenue will be hosting a fundraiser at Blaze Pizza in Mohawk Commons! Be sure to bring your flyer you received in school-all orders from Elmer will result in 20% of the total cost going back to the school-how easy is that? And, it's pizza!!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!!
It's Read Across America Week!!
Since tomorrow is the birthday of the great Dr. Seuss, we will be celebrating one of his famous books, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish!
Be sure to wear your Red, White and Blue for all to see on Monday in celebration of this terrific day!
Tuesday - "I Can Read with My Eyes Shut" - Wear a Tee Shirt with words or a message on it
Wednesday - WACKY Wednesday! Wear your clothes mismatched and/or inside out!
Thursday - "Fox in Socks" - Wear your CRAZIEST socks!
Friday - "Green Eggs and Ham" - wear some GREEN to celebrate Sam-I-Am's favorite meal!
Schenectady City Schools are closed today, 2/9/15, for a Snow Day. Have fun out there Elmer Avenue friends...and be safe!
