ABOUT OAK HILL
Oak Hill School is a private therapeutic day school for students in grades K-8 whose emotional or behavioral challenges keep them from being successful in other schools.

Oak Hill School’s highly committed and dedicated staff delivers a non-traditional program that utilizes a variety of resources including, but not limited to: nature and the outdoors, cooking, art, technology, and physical education to build self-esteem and support learning in the traditional core curriculum areas. In addition to being certified in special education, our staff is also trained in TCIS (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools). We have six classrooms that consist of six students, one teacher and a teaching assistant. Our campus is located on 9 acres of wooded land in Scotia, N.Y. complete with hiking trails, space to play games outdoors, a large Playground, and a beautiful pond.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in all aspects of behavior management and supporting students’ success in school

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma required
Ability to work with students who demonstrate emotional and behavioral challenges

We will be closed today- Tuesday, February 2nd. This is a traditional snow day! No remote learning. ❄️

With the increase in the positivity rate for COVID-19 throughout the Capital Region and out of an abundance of caution, Oak Hill School will switch to remote learning starting Wednesday, December 9th. 🖥

Remote learning will continue through the December break. A decision will be made before the New Year when the school will reopen for in-person instruction. It is hoped that school can reopen on January 4th. This will be contingent on the COVID-19 positivity rate at that time, along with recommendations and guidance from local, state, and federal government agencies.
