We would like to ask people to remember to observe the speed limit in front of the farm. Last evening, a silver Dodge pick up with an American flag on the tailgate was going at a high rate of speed much faster than 45 miles an hour and hit one of the geese. They continued on without stopping . She’s still alive, although probably will only be able to see out of one side. Geese are some of the toughest animals I’ve ever seen .  It’s 45 miles an hour past the farm for a reason, whether it be kids cows or heavy machinery there is a lot of action around the place . Thank you in advance for being considerate and obeying the speed limit 🙂

Today, New York State Police Sergeant Station Commander Richard Kosakowski, assigned to Troop D, was contacted by a passerby while driving on West Ava Road in Oneida County about something unusual in the roadway.
Turns out, it wasn’t your average roadside hazard… it was a tiny, furry cub causing a brief bear-ier to traffic.
Sergeant Kosakowski contacted the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, who responded to safely take over and help reunite the cub with its mom.
A good reminder to slow down and stay alert… you never know who might be crossing!

🚨 A Message from the Guilderland Police Department Traffic Safety Unit 🚨
As the weather warms up, we are seeing an increase in the use of e-bikes, e-scooters, motorcycles, and electric dirt bikes on our roadways and in our neighborhoods. While these can be fun and convenient, it is important to remember they must be operated safely and in accordance with New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws.
Know the Rules of the Road:
• Obey all traffic signs and signals
• Ride in the proper lanes and direction of travel
• Wear appropriate safety gear, including helmets where required
• Ensure your vehicle is legal for roadway use (many electric dirt bikes are NOT street legal)
• Do not operate on sidewalks unless permitted
• Follow all age restrictions and licensing requirements
Parents & Guardians:
We need your help. Please make sure your children understand and follow these rules. Many of these devices are not toys and can pose serious risks when used improperly. Some are legally considered motor vehicles, and operators may not be old enough to ride them on public roadways. Allowing unsafe or illegal operation puts your child and others in danger.

Failure to follow the law may result in enforcement action, including fines and possible confiscation of the vehicle. Unsafe operation will not be tolerated.
Drivers:
Please remain mindful that these riders are sharing the road. Stay alert and watch for e-bikes, scooters, and motorcycles, especially in residential areas.
Our goal is simple: keep everyone safe. Please do your part to help keep our roads and neighborhoods safe for all.
