Billie has over 15 years of experience teaching piano, and over 10 years of experience teaching oboe. She strives to cultivate a lifelong appreciation for music through fun interaction with her youngest students, and an interwoven balance of instrumental skill, music theory, and historical context for more advanced students.
She received a Master of Music in oboe performance and a Bachelor of Music degree with concentrations in musical studies and oboe performance from The Ohio State University and Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam respectively. Additionally, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Musicology from The Ohio State University with her thesis, The Reception of Erik Satie’s Gymnopédies: Audience, Identity, and Commercialization.
Billie has performed with the Newark-Granville Symphony Orchestra, Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra, Saint Joseph Cathedral Choir, McConnell Arts Center Chamber Orchestra, Ohio Capital Winds, New Albany Symphony Orchestra, and the Siren Reed Trio among others.
