Union College Summer Research Fellowships
Once again, the College will fund Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowships for students doing scholarly work with faculty members. The main goal of this program is to give strong students the opportunity to pursue a subject in depth over the summer, under the guidance of faculty members. Each student applicant must have a faculty sponsor. The range of supported activities is broad - bibliographic work, field surveys, laboratory research, among others. One goal of this program is to give the student an opportunity to work on faculty research, but we also encourage innovative student-generated projects as long they have faculty sponsors. This summer we should be able to fund 50+ students.
For summer 2010, we are again offering Full-Summer Research Fellowships [$3000 student stipend and 8 weeks on-campus housing, with an expectation of at least 240 hours of work over the summer] and Half-Summer Research Fellowships [$1500 student stipend and 4 weeks on-campus housing, with an expectation of at least 120 hours of work over the summer]. We also anticipate funding several Summer Scholars, sophomore and first-year students in the Union Scholars programs.
The application deadline is 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 11.
