Dear Parents & Guardians,

We are excited to announce the launch of our brand-new preschool program, Star Bright Pre-K Prep, designed specifically for our 3–5 year old scholars! This program will be separate from our regular daycare so that children can truly feel like they are in a school environment while still enjoying the loving care Star Bright is known for.

✨ Our Theme for this School Year: “12 Months of Learning” — each month we will focus on a new set of skills and lessons, beginning this September.
Program Details:
Pre-K Hours: 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Monday–Friday)
If your child attends before 9:00 AM or after 2:30 PM, they will transition from or into Daycare/After or Before Care.

Start Date: Monday, September 8th, 2025

Daily Routine: Structured learning time, circle time, small groups, and enrichment activities to prepare your child for kindergarten and beyond.
Scholars: All children in our program will be called Scholars to build pride and excitement in their learning journey.

What Your Child Will Need:
A bookbag
A change of clothes (labeled)
Shirt sizes: Please send me your child’s shirt size. We will be providing Star Bright Pre-K Prep shirts for children to wear at least twice a week (or daily if you prefer).

What We Will Provide:
Water bottles
All school supplies needed for daily activities
Homework & Calendars:
Your child will receive simple homework assignments to support learning at home.
A monthly calendar will be sent home so you can follow along with our lessons and themes.
We will also be returning to Snack Days — more information will be sent home soon.
We kindly ask that all families take this program seriously as we work together to prepare your children for school success.

⭐ Please note: Our younger little ones will not be left out! We will have a fun and age-appropriate itinerary designed just for them.

Good Afternoon Families,

I just want to thank all parents and guardians for last week – everyone was on time at pick-up and very respectful. I truly appreciate you all, and it really eased my mind while I was away. 💛

A few important reminders for this upcoming week:

Daycare Hours:

Regular hours are back: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (unless you have authorized extended hours).

Please continue to be mindful of your set daycare hours. If you have any questions about your child’s schedule, feel free to reach out.

Parent Fees:

Please stay on top of your parent fees. We will be cracking down on this moving forward.

Medical Paperwork:

Every child must have updated medical forms – no exceptions.

Individual notices will be sent out regarding this.

🏫 Looking Ahead to the New School Year 🏫

Transportation: We only provide transportation to Destine Prep Charter School and pick-ups at Martin Luther King School. Please be mindful as we cannot be in multiple places at once.

Set Up Transportation Early: Please arrange your child’s school transportation ASAP.

School Attendance Information: We need to know which children will be attending school this fall and their schedules.

Daycare & Pre-K Readiness: For children remaining in daycare and joining our Pre-K readiness program, please let us know so we can plan accordingly. (This program will be run a little differently this year, so communication is very important!)

I know this was a lot to read, but it’s important so that our daycare can run smoothly. Thank you all for your cooperation and support!

📢 Vacation Closure Reminder 📢

Dear Star Bright Day Care Families,
This is a friendly reminder that Star Bright Day Care will be CLOSED for vacation from Saturday, July 19th through Sunday, July 27th.

☀️ We will reopen on Monday, July 28th at our regular time.
📍 No one will be at the daycare during this time, so please plan accordingly.

Summer Reminders & Updates – Please Read Carefully

Dear Parents & Guardians,

As we move through the summer season, we’d like to share some important reminders and updates to help keep everything running smoothly and safely for your children:

📅 Starting July 14, 2025:

Parents must supply their child’s own diapers and pull-ups.
🚫 If these items are not provided, your child will not be able to attend daycare that day.

👕 Change of Clothes & Daily Items:

All children are required to have a spare set of clothing at the daycare, preferably summer-appropriate (t-shirts, shorts, etc.).

We also ask that parents provide the following:

A towel that can stay at daycare for water play or drying off.

👟Make Sure Your child wears a pair of appropriate shoes every day. No flip-flops or loose sandals—closed-toe shoes or secure sandals are best for play and outdoor time.

🩱 Please leave a bathing suit at daycare with your child’s name on it. It will stay here for water play and other fun activities.

🍿 Snack Days (Coming Soon!):

We are considering bringing back Snack Days! Each child will have a turn to bring in a snack to share with their friends. More information will follow soon.

🚌 Summer Field Trips: We’re planning 3 exciting field trips this summer:

1. 🦓 Utica Zoo

2. 🐠 Boston Aquarium

3. 💦 Zoom Flume Water Park

✨ Some trips may be age-restricted and will be open only to children who show good behavior.

🎉 Family Night – Date To Be Announced!
We’re also planning a fun Family Night event. Stay tuned for more details!

🏖️ Daycare Vacation Closure: Please note that Star Bright Day Care will be closed for vacation starting:

Friday, July 18
and will reopen on Monday, July 28th.

We kindly ask all families to plan accordingly. 💼

Remember if your child isn’t feeling well please keep them home so they can get better. If children have been out because they have been sick they need a doctors note to return to daycare.
Reminder: if a sibling is sick all siblings need to stay home as well.
