American skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora) is a hardy native perennial herb. It can grow in full sun to part shade and prefers rich moist-wet soil conditions. Blooms July-October. Traditionally used as a mild sedative brewed in teas. Also resistant to deer and rabbits. It does spread via rhizomes and is in the mint family but is also highly attractive to native bees. Why am I telling you this? Because we have some this season at our greenhouse. 4" pots are $5 each or 3 for $10.

Unfortunately we will not be open tomorrow as we will be at the Grow Amsterdam Farmers Market at 100 Church Street in Amsterdam from 9-1. If you don't catch us at our greenhouse today, there is always next week.

The Liberty ARC Horticulture Program offers beautiful annuals, perennials, houseplants, and more while providing meaningful hands-on experiences for individuals with disabilities through greenhouse and horticulture activities. 🌼🪴

Be sure to stop by their booth, support their incredible work, and take home something locally grown and lovingly cared for! 💚

We will only be able to process cash sales at our greenhouse tomorrow. We apologize for the inconvenience. We will be able to run credit cards at the Schenectady Farmer's Market where we will be from 9:30-1:30 tomorrow. Friendly reminder all vegetable plants are 1/2 off. So vegetable packs are $2 and individual plants are $1. Jazz on Jay also starts tomorrow as well so we hope to see you downtown tomorrow.

We were very busy this last month. Not only did we do 2 city plantings, 3 farmers markets, 2 pop up sales and all the day to day operations but we also made flowers for an annual dinner, a retirement party, a funeral, a prom and a wedding. Happy to say May is over. Since it is now the beginning of June and we made it out of May in one piece we are celebrating with all vegetable plants being marked 1/2 off. Vegetable packs are now $2 each, single plants in 4" or smaller are $1. Celebrate with us and fill in the holes of what the groundhog or bunny ate!
