Don't have a cow! Ms. Blood's 7th grade CTE students had a visit from a couple bovine friends to learn about the difference between meat cows and dairy cows.

In Ms Blood's CTE classes, our 7th graders showed their creativity and their school pride by working with Capital District Flowers to make boutonnieres for the 8th grade graduation ceremony!

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas were informed of their freedom. Today, we recognize the significance of this day in American history and celebrate the strength, culture, and contributions of Black communities.

We hope you take this day to reflect on the contributions of Black Americans and the lasting impact they have had on our communities, our country, and our daily lives!

Ms. Davis' CTE classes are in a pickle! This week Ms. Rebekka visited and showed the classes how to pickle and preserve fresh vegetables.

Important note- Tomorrow Friday June 12th is a half day due to the anticipated warm temperatures.

Due to the extreme heat expected, Friday, June 12 will be a half day of school for all students.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. Dismissal will follow our standard half-day schedule.

As we navigate this period of high temperatures, we urge all families to take the necessary safety precautions:

> Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you do not feel thirsty.

>Limit Outdoor Activity: Avoid prolonged outdoor activity, especially during peak heat hours.

> Dress Appropriately: Wear lightweight, loose-fitting, and light-colored clothing to help stay cool.

> Vehicle Safety: Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles for any amount of time.

> Check on Loved Ones: Please check in regularly on children, older adults, and individuals with underlying health concerns who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
