STYLE INTERPRETATION / ANALYSIS

🧶Style name; Underbust corset pencil gown.

🧶Fabrics used:
🩸 Main fabric : Beaded lace, Milkado silk.
🩸 Underlining : Silk / duchess / satin
🩸 Lining : Cotton

🧶Interface used; Airstay, bra cup.

🧶Structure accessories; Bones, Shoulder pad.

🧶Sleeve; Pencil sleeve

🧶Neckline: round neckline and Queen Anne neckline.

ANALYSIS
Let's divide the dress into 3 segments ; Upper part, Middle part and Lower part.

🧵 UPPER PART ; This starts from the shoulder to the underbust. Bustier was used to achieve it. The underlining (silk or duchess) was used to make the bustier. Queen Anne neckline was achieved on the underlining.
Afterwards, the beaded lace was placed on the underlining and handstitch to fit the underlining. The beaded lace has a round neckline on it.
To achieve this structured look on the upper part, fusible interface can be pressed on it and bra cup can be added.
Another method of achieving this firm look is by caging the bustier area with bones and placing fibre on it to give it a soft but firm look.
Shoulder pad was used on the shoulder.

🧵 MIDDLE PART ; Milkado silk was used to achieve it. It was cut into straps and then interlocked to achieve this.
The middle part starts from the underbust and stopped at the lower waistline. Stopping at the lower waistline will help suck in the belly. Bones were used on the underlining so it can sn**ch the waist and give the hourglass shape.

🧵LOWER PART ; It started from the upper waistline and stopped at about 4 inches below the ankle. The underlining is about 5 inches shorter than the beaded lace.
