Prerna Academy of Performing Arts

Going online with music and dance instruction is not easy. It has its challenges. We, at Prerna Academy, are getting over the initial hiccups and are proceeding towards a more effective online instruction. Thought that music would be easier to teach online and dance difficult. Very quickly realized that it infact is the other way around. Surprising!! Trying to make the best of the current situation. Stay safe and healthy. This too shall pass.

Student: Aunty, how would they have written the first date ever? 1/1/1 or 1/1/0?
Me: How does it matter?
Student: My teacher at school said that the decade is done. Doesn't it mean that on Jan 1st we are in year 2021? Then, shouldn't it be "Happy 2021"?
Me: Hmmmm........

Kids come up with the most intriguing questions. Blessed to be part of their lives and being able to make the slightest impact I try to make. Thankful for the huge impact that they make in my life. 12+ years and counting!!

It was wonderful performing with my dear friend Srivani Vokkarane for Silicon Andhra's Sri Annamacharya's 611th Jayanthi Utsavam. Indebted to all my teachers, particularly Veena Murthy Vijay, Dr.Anupama Kylash, and Dr.Yashoda Thakore, for equipping us with the technical as well as theoretical knowledge to look at things differently and to think outside the box. The choreographic genius of Veena Murthy Vijay ma'am gives it a totally new dimension. Thanks once again to all my teachers. Unfortunately, my initial Kuchipudi teachers are not on FB or any other social media. But I think of them every second I dance.
