From tiny caterpillars to beautiful butterflies 🐛🦋
Over the past few weeks, the children observed each stage of the butterfly life cycle , learning to slow down, notice change, and care for living things. From watching the caterpillars grow, to seeing the chrysalis form, to finally releasing the butterflies into the world, this experience invited wonder, patience, responsibility, and connection to the natural world.

A special visit and a new sound 🎶
Our children were introduced to the sarod, a traditional Indian string instrument known for its rich, melodic tone. After listening, they even had a chance to gently strum the strings themselves.
Hands-on experiences like this bring learning to life.

Earth Day Celebration: The rain came and we went outside anyway 🌧️🌿
Because caring for the earth is not reserved for perfect weather.
Our children spent Earth Day immersed in nature, decorating birdhouses, watching the wind carry their pinwheels, planting seeds, and preparing orange peels to go back to the earth through compost. With families present, the experience became a shared act of stewardship.
In Montessori, this is the work: guiding children toward awareness, responsibility, and a deep respect for the world they are growing into.

This week, our Early Childhood community welcomed an educator and advocate who shared music, storytelling, and traditions from the Pataxó people of Brazil.
Through hands-on, joyful engagement, children were invited to explore new ways of understanding the world, rooted in connection, respect, and care for the earth.
Moments like these expand perspective, nurture curiosity, and support our commitment to cultivating globally aware, thoughtful learners. 🌿
