Musical Education: Sayville public school system, studied drums and percussion from grades 5 –12. from age 10 t

o 16, playing both tenor and snare drum. Also competed with the Blue Jays award winning drum quartet. Private drum set and percussion study from age 14 to current with the following educators:
Ralph Parkill, Carmine Appice, Joe Franco, Bobby Rondinelli, Gregg Bissonette, Rod Morgenstein, Michael Lauren, David Stark, Dom Famularo and Jim Chapin. Teaching Experience: I have maintained my private teaching practice for the past 23 years teaching approximately 600 students during that time period. Music in Holbrook from 1990-1993. Maximum Music in Mt. Sinai from 2007-2011. New York Academy of Music in Amityville from 2014. I have taught students from the ages of 6 to 60, of all experience levels, from beginners to advanced professional performers. I teach most musical styles including: classical and symphonic, rudimental, rock, metal, punk, blues, R&B, jazz, funk, Latin, Afro-Cuban, Reggae etc. Some of my specialties include: rudimental drum set application, reading-counting and theory, history and evolution of drumming, traditional and matched grips, the Moeller method, balance-posture and ergonomics, multi limb independence, single and double bass technique, odd meters and time signatures, subdividing and superimposing time signatures, recital and N.Y.S.S.M.A. preparation, performance and recording skills, tuning and instrument maintenance. Performance and Recording Experience: I have accumulated extensive experience as a live performer since graduating high school in 1977 and have supported myself as a full time performing musician and percussion educator for the past 20 years. I have done multiple recording sessions over the years as well at such studios as: Sonic Sound, Sabella, Music Palace, Gateway, Virgo, EKO, Sound Move and S.I.R.,. I currently perform live frequently with the bands: Soulstice, Mudcat and Sinner’s Prayer. Additional Experience: I also do percussion instrument repairs, restorations, appraisals, tuning and assembly.
