Lightbridge Academy High quality childcare and early education programs for infants, toddlers and preschool children. We are so much more than just a daycare!

Lightbridge Academy offers infant, toddler, preschool and back-up care programs. To the kids, she’s Miss Becky, the music teacher. 🎶

To us behind the scenes, she’s officially Miss Becky: International Franchise Association Franchisee of the Year AND the inaugural recipient of the IFA Cornerstone Award, an honor given to just one franchisee for exceptional service and impact! 🏆

Becky is more than just a franchisee owner. She takes time to show up and get to know the students within her centers. Whether she’s dressing up as The Cat In The Hat or teaching music, she’s deeply involved in the care and teachings of her students. Away from the classroom, she has also been found in Washington, DC, to meet with legislators on childcare policy to ensure the children and parents of her community get the support they need from a local and national level. As you can see, Becky does it all! We can’t think of a more deserving recipient.

⚖️ Little mathematicians, BIG discoveries! 🧮💙

Our preschoolers are weighing, measuring, and exploring the wonderful world of math using balance scales and Unifix cubes!

Through this hands-on activity, our little learners are developing important early math skills as they:

🔢 Practice counting: Using Unifix cubes to measure and compare quantities.
⚖️ Explore weight: Discovering what happens when one side of the balance is heavier or lighter.
🧠 Build problem-solving skills: Making predictions, testing ideas, and figuring out how to balance the scale.
💬 Develop math vocabulary: Learning concepts like heavier, lighter, equal, and more or less.

Who knew measuring could be so much fun? When learning is hands-on, even the biggest concepts become little discoveries! 🌟

Stop, drop and roll…It’s Fire Safety Week! 🔥

A big part of our Lightbridge Academy curriculum is ensuring students learn the basics of safety practices. Throughout each center’s week of activities, students are able to get hands-on experience fighting “fires”, touring fire trucks, crawling under “smoke”, and learning to call 9-1-1.

🏠 Parent Homework: keep the learning going at home! While fire safety is still fresh in their minds, take time as a family to create or review your home fire safety plan. Identify your exits, choose a meeting spot and practice what everyone should do in case of an emergency.

🧱 Big blocks, little hands, BIG learning! 💙

Our toddlers are busy building, stacking, knocking down, and building all over again! While it may look like simple play, those colorful big LEGOs are helping develop some pretty important skills.

💪 Fine Motor Skills: Grasping, connecting, and pulling apart blocks strengthens little hand muscles and coordination.

👀 Hand-Eye Coordination: Carefully lining up pieces and fitting them together takes focus and practice.

🤝 Social Skills: Building alongside friends encourages sharing, taking turns, cooperation, and learning to play together.

🧠 Problem-Solving: Figuring out which pieces fit and how to keep a tower standing encourages critical thinking and creativity.

And of course, learning that sometimes the best part of building is knocking it all down and starting again! 😂

Our tiniest artists are making their mark with dot markers! From curious little hands exploring colors to enthusiastic dabbing and stamping, this simple activity is packed with developmental benefits.

Each year, every one of our centers hosts a Professional Development Day, giving our teachers and staff time to come together, prepare for the days ahead and make sure we’re all aligned on what’s next. From discussing upcoming initiatives to planning lessons, activities and meaningful learning experiences, every detail is thoughtfully considered with our young learners in mind.
