The Redskin Club needs some help from our Sayre Community during Varsity Football games selling 50/50. You will meet a Redskin Club member at the main gates by the tennis courts. Selling would occur from 6:00 until the end of the first quarter.

Games are 8/29, 9/11, 10/09, 10/16, and 10/24

This week's Morning Times Athlete Spotlight, brought to you by Hal Fish Heating and Air Conditioning, is Sayre's Declan Barry.

The incoming senior enters his final high school year coming off being a three-sport athlete in his junior year.

In the fall, he took on the starting quarterback role for the Redskins in the wake of a teammate’s injury. He was then a point guard on the basketball team, leading them with 8.7 points per game. He then joined the varsity baseball team for the first time in the spring, contributing on the mound and at the plate.

This is an important message from the Sayre Area School District. Effectively immediately, electric scooters and electric dirt bikes will not be allowed at Sayre High School or at Snyder Elementary School. Pennsylvania State Law prohibits these modes of transportation from being operated on public roads and sidewalks. They are only permitted to be operated on private property according to this Pennsylvania law. Electric bikes with pedals are legal and can be operated if the operator is at least 16 years of age and is wearing a helmet. These will be permitted at Sayre High School, if these criteria are met. Students will not be allowed to ride electric scooters or electric dirt bikes to school, practices, or after school events. The Sayre Area School District has been working with the Sayre Borough Police Department to ensure that this law is being followed. The safety of students is always a top priority in the Sayre Area School District.
