I'll be at Saturday's in Saxapahaw today from 5 pm - 8 pm. I'll be there next week for the last event of the summer. Come join the fun! Here are the little paintings I created this week. I sold a lot of paintings last weekend, so I'm working on rebuilding my stock with the sizes that sell the most often.

So much happening today! For the local folks, the Free 2-D Art Salon meets at Saxapahaw UMC at 6 pm. For my friends, family and followers all over the world, I will have my first Whatnot LIVE Show at 9 pm ET. I'll be able to share my current inventory of art with reasonable shipping rates.

My Whatnot id is drmellghh. The first 25 followers at Whatnot will get a special surprise in the mail from me. :-)

Today was spent scrolling through a series of websites researching and applying for events this coming fall and winter. Applications are submitted to a few, discussions with organizers are happening with others. I'm hoping by the end of June/beginning of July I'll have a good sense of where I will be when.

What is my biggest impediment? Money for the entry/booth fees. The events that are more likely to lead to good sales cost more money.

Second biggest impediment? Distance to the event location. I try to stay within an hours drive of home. I can go farther, but the greater the distance, the more money/time it takes.

All of these affect the bottom line. I'd really like to make something close to a profit this year. Breaking even would be awesome.

Ah, the joys of owning ones own business.
