Friends, please take a moment to read this and click the link below:
On New Year’s Day, Quinn Ray and I launched a podcast from my kitchen table. Seven months later, The Hometown Holler is the largest state & local politics podcast in North Carolina. Every week, we strive to bring our audience (15k folks and counting!!) a dose of “Tar Heel politics in a shot glass.” We might dive deep into a specific issue (childcare, public education, government transparency) or we might sit down with a special guest—a member of Congress, state supreme court justice, preacher, or drag queen. Anything is possible on the Holler.
Running a successful podcast is both rewarding and demanding. What our audience sees is the culmination of hours spent on research, writing, recording, and editing. Quinn and I work during the week, meaning every moment dedicated to the Holler is time away from our loved ones. It's challenging, but the unwavering support of our incredible fans keeps our cup full.
Having built a valuable platform, our current focus is on ensuring its sustainability. This is why we've launched a Patreon (linked via this post). By supporting the Holler as a patron, you'll gain access to bonus episodes, Holler swag, and other perks. Most importantly, your support allows us to continue shining a light on the most significant people and topics in our state. Together, we can keep building a better North Carolina—one conversation at a time.
