Wonder Tots PreK & Childcare -previously Diaper Gang Home Daycare DCFS Licensed and CPR/ 1st Aid certified! I provide lunch and snacks as well as a fun PreK program, crafts and other fun activities.

Located in a safe, family neighborhood, have a fun play area in the fenced backyard and have a great park just a couple blocks away! We spend lots of time reading together, singing, playing and doing art projects!

Winter Unit ❄️☃️
For all 3,925 days of January we studied all things winter! Our letters for this unit were Hh, Ii, Ss, and Qq and we worked on the numbers 1 and 2 this month, too.
For Hh, we investigated animals that hibernate during winter, crafted a hedgehog hibernation picture, and decided Mrs. Whitney would be really good at hibernating because she's always too cold in the winter 🤭 During Ii week we talked abouf ice skating and enjoyed pretending to ice skate in our play room. The floor can be nice and slippery with socks, just like at a real ice rink. A few students have been to the local ice rink and shared what to do! During Ss week we enjoyed seeing some amazing snowmen creations online and made some letter S snowmen ourselves. Lastly, for Qq and 2 we made paper quilts, practiced quiet and loud, and talked a bit about rhyming.

Christmas 2025 🎄🎅🏽
For our short Christmas unit we learned the letters Tt and Xx, and also worked on independently drawing triangles. We made ALL the crafts, including snowy trees, snowmen in snowglobes, reindeers christmas trees and Grinch and Max handprint plates for the parent gift!

Dinosaurs!! 🦕🦖
During our dino unit we learned the letters Dd, Ff and Vv. We studied all about different dinosaurs, their varying sizes, what they eat, their different types of feet, and why they aren't here on Earth anymore. And oh how we played! We built habitats, played stacking games, used our color dinosaurs for counting, read books galore, crafted all sorts of dinosaurs things AND took a field trip to have donuts with our stuffed dinosaurs in tow!

I am LONG overdue for a PreK catch-up! October lessons included the letter Mm for monster, Jj for jack o lantern, Gg for ghost. We also focused on drawing triangles and counting and identifying numbers 1- 5!
We started the month out with a mix up Monday, created our own monsters and of course danced to the monster mash 🧟‍♂️ 🎶 Then we talked about pumpkins, how they grew, and learned steps in how to carve jack-o-lanterns before our parents came for a pumpkin carving party.
The kids really enjoyed this month's spider activity where we threaded beads onto pipe cleaner legs (don't worry, it's coming back in Nov as a turkey!), and I personally LOVE how the ghost family portraits turned out!

Letter Ee and Number 3!
We wrapped up our Fairy Tales unit with #3 and the letter Ee! For E we read about the Enormous Turnip, made an egg humpty dumpty puzzle and made the goose that laid the golden egg out of our handprints! For 3 we read alllll the fairy tales about 3 animals - pigs, bears, and goats, oh my! The kids also tried their hand at our first guided drawing and made some adorable, albeit it muddy, pigs!

Letter Pp week and look at our royal prince and princesses! 🤴🏼👸🏾 We read SO many books about princesses this week and we're lucky to snag some on princes from the library! We made a cute frog prince craft, worked on identifying numbers 1-5, and learned a fun song for circle time. At the end of the week we dressed in our best, donned a crown and ate lunch like royalty at our princess tea party. A huge thank you to my mom for supplying all the amazing display pieces and decor.

Letter Cc week! Ok, so technically I'm a week behind in posting, but we've been busy growing our brains and having fun! 🙃
Letter Cc was for castles and candlestick. This week we read all about how castles are built, worked on naming a identifying shapes, and tried building castles from blocks. (Check out the tall walls and drawbridge!) We also sorted our blocks to make a rainbow castle together and talked about who might live there.
Then, we read Jack be Nimble and tried to think of why he would want to jump over a candlestick... it's not very safe. I made us a safer version of paper and we took turns jumping over it instead.

We had a great 2nd week learning the letter Bb! We started our fairytale unit this week so our books were on Jack and the Beanstalk and Goldilocks and the three Bears (& other bear variations). We made a craft where the kids climbed their own beanstalk, painted a tape resist B picture, and had a teddy bear day where we doctored and fed our furry friends. Lastly we celebrate with a teddy bear picnic complete with bear paw cookies! 🧸🐾

We had a GREAT 1st week of PreK learning all about apples. We learned the letter A, counted numbers 1 to 5 with apple seeds, practiced scissors skills, learned the Way Up High in the Apple Tree song, made apple stamps and tried a variety of tasty apples! 🍎🍏

We're celebrating 14 years today! 🙌🏽❤️
This year's changes come in a structure and name change that I've been working on for the past few years. I have always loved the PreK piece of my program, and am looking forward to focusing on that moving forward - helping prepare little hearts and minds for school. Today, and everyday, I am so grateful to be able to make this dream come to fruition so I can continue doing what I love!
