ANNOUNCEMENTS: October 1, 2026


Seniors: UNA, UTC, and MS STATE campus visit permission forms are due THIS FRIDAY in the Ayers office.

National Honor Society applications are now available for any sophomore, junior, or senior who would like to apply. A student must have at least a 90-grade point average to apply. Applications can be picked up outside Mrs. Plunk's room R-4 and Mrs. Shank's room I-3 and are due back no later than tomorrow at 3pm. Existing NHS members DO NOT need to reapply.

Any existing National Honor Society member who has been a member for at least one year and would like to run for an officer position, please come by Mrs. Plunks room R-4 and sign up. A student can sign up until tomorrow at 3pm.

There will be a lunch and learn today during 3rd period for any student interested in learning more about the packaging corporation of America’s full-ride engineering scholarship. You must see Mrs. Bellis or Mrs. Tanya in the vocational building to sign up to attend.

Jackson Northside has moved the HCHS vs JMC Northside Football game from Friday night to Thursday night. Game time is 7pm at Northside High School!

Remake pictures for grades 9-11 is tomorrow! The photographers will only be here from 8 AM-9 AM. If you did not have a picture made on the first picture day, please go to the auditorium lobby between 8:00-9:00. If you have any questions, stop by Room E3.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, Septembe 29, will the the ACT Senior re-take day. All Seniors will be taking the ACT, Juniors will be taking the ASVAB, and all Freshmen and Sophomores will be involved in an informational meeting in the Auditorium. All Juniors and Seniors who are testing need to be at school before 8:00 AM and have their Chromebook with them and have it fully charged and ready to test.

Rotary band players of the week are Eli Wint and Braxton Wood. The Color guard member of the week is Kendal Franks and section of the week is the Color Guard.

The Pride earned the following ratings from the Crossroads Marching contest in Corinth, MS on Saturday.

Band- superior by all three judges
Color Guard- superior
Class awards
Band 3rd place
Color Guard 1st place and the high color guard score of the day!!
It was a great day for The Pride!

The Lady Tiger Volleyball Team defeated McNairy yesterday at home in 3 sets. The JV also won in 2 sets. The Lady Tigers will be back in action Monday at home vs. Middleton with JV starting at 5pm and Varsity at 6pm. Tuesday night is Senior night at home against Chester County.

Volunteers needed to help a local Pumpkin patch in Counce on Friday Sept. 25! See Mrs. Plunk TODAY! A great way to get those volunteer hours.

Yesterday the Lady Tigers and Tigers competed in the District Golf Tournament at TN River Golf Course in Decaturville. The Tigers posted a team score of 343 but failed to advance to the region tournament next Monday. This completes the golf season for the Tigers, and we would like to recognize and thank our seniors (Eli Moore, Sam McGinley, Westin Roten, and Justin Albers) for all their hard work throughout their 4 years on the golf team. The Lady Tigers finished with a team score of 200 and missed advancing to the Region Tournament as a team by 1 stroke. Senior Emily Wright completed her career as a Lady Tiger golfer yesterday. Lainey DeBerry posted a score of 91 for the tournament, finishing 4th overall in the District, and will advance to the Region Tournament next Monday as an individual. We wish her the best of luck!

Both the JV and Varisty Volleyball teams defeated Jackson Northside in district play last. night. Volleyball needs to be let out at 2:40 to travel Jackson Southside tonight.
