A proud Savannah State University alumnus and member of our 40 Under 40 Class, Kareem McMichael is an award-winning filmmaker, storyteller, and educator whose work continues to make an impact on campus and throughout the community. As Online Content Manager for SSU's Journalism and Mass Communications program, advisor to the student newspaper, and co-founder of the SSU Indie Film Festival, he is helping cultivate the next generation of media professionals while using film to tell stories that matter.

Today, Savannah State faculty and staff kicked off our annual Faculty & Staff Institute as we prepare to welcome our Tigers back to campus! From departmental updates to President Whirl's State of the University address, Day 1 was all about reflecting on where we've been, celebrating where we're headed, and making sure we're ready to provide the very best experience for our students.

We also had the opportunity to recognize faculty and staff celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, ,and 30 milestone years of service. Your dedication has helped shape generations of Tigers, and we're grateful for the impact you continue to make on our university.
