Columbus State University Art Education

Congrats to all of the Art and Art Ed students who graduated last night!

Two Art Ed students have had the opportunity through the Center of International Education, Friends of Art, and the Art Department at Columbus State University to conclude their Student Teaching abroad in Oxford, England at a Middle/High School. The students have been artists in residence at the school, started a mural club, and have been teaching a couple of lessons over the past month. They are both grateful for the opportunity and will return home to graduate Monday, May 11th!

Students attended the 2014 Georgia Art Education Association Conference in Macon, GA. The GAEA conference is a wonderful opportunity for students seeking their degree in Art Education.

Students enjoyed the Minimalism Gallery Opening at the Art Department at Columbus State University with Professor Lefler tonight!

Had a great time at dinner with the art teachers from the Columbus/Harris County area! Dr. Lefler and Professor Israel struggled to read the menu in the dark!

GAEA 2014! The world's finest art educators in the making!

Students attended the GAEA conference in Savannah, GA. The conference was based on the book Sparks of Genius by Robert and Michele Root-Bernstein, and the keynote speaker was Jessica Hamlin, the Art 21 Director of Education. The GAEA conference is a wonderful opportunity for students seeking their degree in Art Education.
