Wondering if this is still on display? Installed for the former James Royal Resort in South Beach during their 2012 renovation. It changed names in 2015 to Royal Palm hotel. I can’t find images of the making and installation day. That drives me crazy!.

TBT. In the 90’s I did a lot of live painting at in Coconut Grove (Miami), Aventura and at the opening days at The Block in Orange city, CA. Yes, I embraced the stereotype and paid my bills. This led to painting some live in clubs in South Beach as well. It’s been a priceless (often funny) winding road. #ᴛʙᴛ

These recent Humanoids combine collected natural materials with my recent Angiosperms works using clothespins. It was fitting to photograph this first sculpture in a favorite location near where most materials were found.

Introducing Humanoids (D-2025) Born from collecting things and pieces of wood from our backyard. These fun works have been a much needed new series in the mist of reconstruction. I often introduce my students to a form of perception called Paraedolia, a likely influence here. These humanoids consist of one or more of the following: Water Oak, Live Oak, Azalea and Crepe Myrtle wood.

It is no secret how much I love and appreciate and all the people that make it happen. I share my enthusiasm about this priceless gem with anyone willing to listen. This article tells the story of this ever growing art venue and its visionary founder. Also, I almost fell off my chair when I saw a photo if my work in it!. Go
