"Art is always a revolution. Art is always a disruption."
Jewel's 2026 exhibition Matriclysm: An Archaeology of Connections Lost, presented in Venice concurrently with the Biennale, was created in collaboration with organizations including NASA, NOAA, SCAD, and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. The work examines the experience of being a woman, exploring feelings of disconnection from the feminine, ourselves, each other, and the natural world.
Adjacent to the exhibition, a documentary chronicles the creative process behind the work. Led by Savannah College of Art and Design's award-winning Branded Content team, the film was produced with a group of emerging filmmakers gaining real-world experience on a premium production.

Legends do not arrive. They descend. ⚽ 🐦⬛
SCAD alum and illustration professor Yohey Horish*ta designed striking the cover for Sports Illustrated Japan’s World Cup preview, evoking the mythical three-legged crow Yatagarasu.
Soaring above Tokyo and Mount Fuji across a “Samurai Blue” sky (the Japanese national team’s official color), the god of guidance flanks a red soccer ball as flies through the composition, a detail that references both the Japanese flag and the team’s crest.

"You’re exactly where you need to be. Might as well embrace it.”
Getting us amped for the upcoming World Cup 2026, recent graduate Mario Goic (M.F.A., luxury and brand management, 2026) led the SCAD men’s soccer team as captain and the front line of attack as a forward.
A back-to-back Sun Conference leader in both goals and points, Goic was named Offensive Player of the Year in 2025 and 2026 and Player of the Year in 2025, adding United Soccer Coaches NAIA Men's All-American and Sun Conference First Team honors for a second straight season — a first in program history.
This SCAD legend leaves a decorated legacy of creativity, mentorship, and leadership on and off the field.

🌈🎧 Alumni spotlight: Ashna Malik!
Unapologetically colorful and endlessly inventive, SCAD alum, visual artist, and DJ Ashna Malik (B.F.A., painting, 2020) is making her mark across the global art scene.
Fresh off her Alumni Atelier residency at SCAD Lacoste, Ashna is now exhibiting work in her first New York show at Aicon Gallery, on view through June 13. Her recent accomplishments are as vibrant as her palette: presenting work across 100-foot façades at India Design Fair, making her debut in Dubai, participating in her first Atlanta Art Fair with SCAD Art Sales, and earning a feature in Elle Decor India.
Like the kaleidoscopic worlds she creates, Ashna’s career continues to unfold in every shade of possibility. We can’t wait to see what she dreams up next. 💭

Houston to the stars? Jack Moore is already on his way 🚀
SCAD Bee Jack Moore (B.F.A. illustration) is charting his own creative space as an environment visual development artist in SCAD’s illustration department. Inspired by world cultures, architecture, and vivid color palettes, Jack channels his technical skills from his teachings at SCAD to push his work beyond what he thought possible.
With guidance from professors and the freedom to explore new creative directions, Jack discovered both his artistic strengths and the industry path he plans to pursue.
Safe to say, this star is only getting started. ✨

What goes wrong…goes incredibly right! 🧚 🌠
Congratulations to the cast and crew of the SCAD theatrical production of “Peter Pan Goes Wrong.” Missed cues, technical trip-ups, and cast conflicts — every mishap became part of the magic at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts.
More than 90 SCAD Bees joined forces to bring this delightfully disastrous production to life and what a roaring success it was!
