Walt Disney Imagineering offered a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to turn big ideas into unforgettable experiences during a masterclass with figure and ride technical artist Juan Diego Torres Brenes LaRoche (B.F.A., animation, 2021) and caught an exclusive screening of “ Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender” with director Lauren Montgomery.

The SCAD Savannah Film Festival is back Oct. 24–31 for eight days of screenings, premieres, panels, workshops, and conversations with some of the biggest names in film.

Big ideas. Bigger screens. 🎬

Meet recent SCAD grad Elly White (B.F.A., motion media design, 2026), who spent her summer behind the scenes at Netflix as an on air design intern!

As the sole intern on Netflix’s Emerging Creative Xperimental Design team, Elly dove right into the action, supporting live sports broadcasts like “Home Run Derby” and “Field of Dreams,” with NFL games on the horizon. She created motion graphics, telestration packages, layouts, and custom designs in After Effects while helping adapt to a brand new Netflix design language.

Her advice for making the most of every opportunity? Stay curious, communicate, and ask questions. 💡

From the Hive to the Big Apple, our Bees interned at Estée Lauder Companies this summer! 🐝🍎SCAD stars Carter Spainhour (B.F.A. industrial design) and Jonas Smith (B.F.A. graphic design) put their SCADpro experience and creative education into practice as interns at Estée Lauder Companies, with Carter working as an industrial and packaging design intern and Jonas as a creative intern at La Mer. Hands-on collaboration at SCADpro introduced them to the beauty industry and they applied that experience at Estée Lauder.

While interning, Carter put SCAD’s emphasis on versatility to work across Rhino, KeyShot, SolidWorks, and Adobe Creative Cloud, while Jonas drew on his multidisciplinary studies in business, art history, and social strategy to manage projects, solve problems, and bring ideas to life.

Two creative paths. One powerful lesson: SCADpro can turn multidisciplinary interests into opportunity. 💫
