Savannah Arts Academy is proud to celebrate Dr. Ana Zurita, who has been named the 2026 AATSP Teacher of the Year (Secondary Level, Grades 9–12) by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.

This prestigious national recognition honors Dr. Zurita's exceptional dedication to language education, cultural understanding, and student success. Through her passion, innovation, and commitment to excellence, she continues to inspire generations of students both inside and outside the classroom.

During the SLP Summer Experience in Washington, D.C., our rising seniors visited The People's House, where they had the opportunity to step behind the desk in the Oval Office and experience what it's like to lead.

🎬🍌 Alumni Alert! 🍌🎬

Griffin Ellis attended Savannah Arts Academy as a Film & Broadcast student under the direction of Mr. Beringson and graduated in 2021. Since then, Griffin has built an impressive career in broadcasting, including serving as the Broadcast Engineer for the Savannah Bananas 🍌⚾ and overseeing their live broadcasts.

Today, he owns and operates his own broadcast studio design company, Griffin Technical Designs.

We are incredibly proud of Griffin and all he has accomplished, and we can't wait to see what he does next! 👏🐾

Alex Mackowiak represented SAA exceptionally well this year and was honored as the Swimming Athlete of the Year at the Coastal Empire Sports Awards. In addition, she earned selection to the GHSA Class 3A-AA First Team All-State Swimming Team.

Congratulations to Alex on these outstanding accomplishments and for representing SAA with excellence both in and out of the pool! 🏊🏼‍♀️🏆🐾
