We are so proud of May Howard alum Airman 1st Class Kiley Harvey, who recently graduated! 🇺🇸🦅

Airman 1st Class Harvey shared that after beginning work at Gulfstream three years ago as a mechanic in production on the G650s and now the G800s, she became inspired to join the Air Force because of her interest in aircraft and a desire to branch out into something bigger in life. She joined to become a crew chief in maintenance at the 165th Airlift Wing and is also the first female in her family to join the military! ❤️🇺🇸

𝒜𝒷𝒷𝓎 𝒫𝑜𝓌𝑒𝓁𝓁

May Howard Elementary is proud to spotlight alumna Abby Powell, who attended May Howard from 2007 to 2013 and has continued to excel throughout her academic journey.

After graduating with honors from Richmond Hill High School in 2020, Abby completed her pre-pharmacy coursework at Georgia Southern University before entering the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy in 2022. In 2026, she graduated summa cm laude with her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.

During her time at UGA, Abby received the prestigious Merck Award for Academic Excellence and participated in research that was presented at national conferences. She was also actively involved in several professional pharmacy organizations, including ACCP, GSHP, ASHP, and the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society.

Abby recently matched with St. Joseph’s/Candler for her pharmacy residency and plans to pursue a career as a clinical pharmacist specializing in internal medicine.

We are incredibly proud of Abby’s accomplishments and are excited to see the impact she will make in the healthcare field. Congratulations, Abby! We know your future is bright!

🎓🌟 May Howard Alumni Spotlight: 🌟🎓
𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗞𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗿

Congratulations to May Howard alumna Holly Kachmar on an outstanding high school career!

Holly graduated as the Valedictorian and STAR Student of the Islands High School Class of 2026. She earned numerous honors, including being named a Georgia Scholar, Albert H. Small Normandy Scholar, National Merit Commended Student, and AP Scholar with Distinction. She also received the Georgia Certificate of Merit, College Board Certificate of National Recognition, and more than $500,000 in merit scholarships from multiple universities.

During her time at Islands High School, Holly excelled both academically and athletically. She participated in soccer, flag football, basketball, cross country, and track and field, serving as captain of both the soccer and cross-country teams. Holly also demonstrated exceptional leadership as President and Treasurer of the National Honor Society, Secretary of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and Lead Positive Peer Influencer.

A talented musician, Holly played clarinet in the Islands High School Band for four years and participated in Solo and Ensemble, District Honor Band, All-State Honor Band, and All-Star Band. She also dedicated countless hours to serving her community through Memorial Hospital Volunteens, Oatland Island, the Humane Society, Positive Peer Influencers, and National Honor Society service projects.

Holly credits May Howard and Coastal Middle School with providing the strong foundation that helped her achieve success. In the fall, she will attend the Georgia Institute of Technology to major in Biology while pursuing a pre-med track.

Her favorite quote by Walt Disney reminds us all to keep striving forward:

“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

We are incredibly proud of Holly and can’t wait to see all she accomplishes in the future. Once a Hawk, Always a Hawk! 💙

Congratulations to May Howard alumnus Eason Chen on his graduation from Islands High School!

Eason will be attending Georgia College & State University this fall, where he plans to major in Marketing.

We are so proud of Eason and all he has accomplished. We wish him the very best as he begins this exciting new chapter and pursues his future goals.

Congratulations to May Howard alumna Gracie Waller on her graduation with honors from Calvary Day School!

In addition to her academic achievements, Gracie is a Certified Pharmacy Technician in both Georgia and South Carolina and is spending the summer working full-time before beginning her next adventure.

This fall, Gracie will attend Nova Southeastern University in Florida, where she plans to major in Marine Biology. With a lifelong passion for sea life and ocean conservation, she is excited to begin this next chapter and pursue her dreams.

We are so proud of all that Gracie has accomplished and can’t wait to see where the tide takes her next. Once a Hawk, always a Hawk! 🦅🌊

Congratulations to May Howard alumnus Harrison on his graduation from Islands High School!

During his time at Islands, Harrison was a member of the National Honor Society and FFA, demonstrating both academic excellence and leadership.

This fall, Harrison will attend Savannah Technical College’s Film Academy, where he plans to pursue his passion for film and work toward a career in the entertainment industry.

Kirk Wetmore ✨🎓

Once a Hawk, Always a Hawk! 🦅💙💛

We are incredibly proud of May Howard alum Kirk Wetmore, who graduated as Valedictorian of the Savannah Christian Preparatory School Class of 2026.

Kirk completed an exceptionally rigorous academic program, earning a 4.7258 GPA while taking 10 AP courses, 9 Dual Enrollment courses, and 7 Honors courses. His achievements include being named a National Merit Finalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, and recipient of numerous honors recognizing his excellence in academics, leadership, and character.

Beyond the classroom, Kirk dedicated his time to mentoring younger students, serving in leadership roles at school and church, participating in mission work, and giving back through community service.

This fall, Kirk will continue his education at Georgia Tech, where he plans to major in Mechanical Engineering.

Congratulations, Kirk! Your May Howard family is so proud of you and excited to see all that you accomplish.

We are so proud of May Howard alum Alyssa Wetmore for graduating with honors from the University of Georgia in just THREE years with a degree in Communications and a minor in Biology! 🎓🐶

Not only did Alyssa accomplish this incredible milestone, but she did it debt free by working full time, taking classes every summer, and maintaining her Zell Miller Scholarship the entire way through. What an amazing example of hard work, determination, and perseverance!

We are proud to celebrate May Howard alumnus Calvin Wallace, a Jenkins High School Class of 2026 graduate!

Calvin completed his high school career with honors and an impressive 4.0 GPA. During his time at Jenkins, he excelled both in the classroom and on the field as a dedicated varsity football and varsity soccer student-athlete.

This fall, Calvin will continue his academic and athletic journey at Wingate University, where he will play college football while pursuing his education. His future goal is to become a veterinarian and make a difference caring for animals.
