Tennessee River Training Weekend

Tennessee River Training Weekend

For those that don't know what to expect from a large animal rescue MUD extrication course - check this out. I call it "MUD CHURCH" because so many people become believers when faced with a 750 pound victim that is this stuck. SATURDAY of the training will be all about dealing with livestock and horses in weird situations... and doing it right.
I'm looking forward to the next training classes.

Hardin County and the HCFD have been hosting the Annual Tennessee River Training Weekend since 2008.

Hardin County and the Hardin County Fire Department have been hosting the Annual Tennessee River Training Weekend since 2008. This event takes place at the Hardin County High School and offers a wide variety of courses for brand new firefighters to seasoned firefighters. The HCFD works with sponsors and vendors to help keep costs of course affordable for rural volunteer departments in West Tenness

Operating as usual

We are having to move our office to a new location and hope to be all settled in by the end of September. For anyone that will be in our area this Saturday we are having a Summer Safety Bash from 10-2pm at Station 12. We would love to see some of y’all there.

Welcome back Chief Fletcher!
Presenting two 4-hour lecture classes that are great for all firefighters in a leadership role or those getting ready to take on a leadership role.

Views from the Other Side of the Desk focuses on those things you may have wished you'd known when taking over a leadership position in your department.

Shaping your VFD to Fit Today's Standards focuses on recruitment and retainment within your department and the way society impacts volunteers departments across the nation.

Welcome back Rebecca with TLAER!
Her classes sold out the last time she was here, and we are hoping we can make that happen again. Rebecca specializes in large animal rescues and is offering two 4-hour courses to chose from.

"What the Heck is Large Animal Rescue" is a 4-hour lecture open to all and highly encouraged for all emergency personnel, veterinarians, animal service officers, and livestock farmers/ranchers.

"Hands-on Mud Rescue" is geared for emergency personnel, animal service officers, and livestock farmers/ranchers performing the rescue efforts of these animals. Those wanting to take this course will need to have rope training of at least rope awareness and know how to tie different knots.

Here's a generalized timeline for what's ahead.
In March we work with additional instructors outside of TFACA. If anyone has an instructor to suggest that we reach out to please comment below. We are looking forward to another great year and feel as if we've had a great start so far.

We are happy to announce our first class has been booked! Make sure to save the date and mark your calendars so you don't miss the Fire Chief Orientation Class by TFACA! The class is free to take, however, there is a small conference fee of $20 that applies.
