Pulaski K8 is celebrating by inviting all students and staff to wear their best dots, spots, or speckles tomorrow, September 15! ⚫⚪🔵

✨ This is a FREE dress-down day for anyone participating in the Dot Day theme — no money is required!

Students may get creative with clothing featuring dots, polka dots, spots, or speckles while still following school dress expectations.

👕 Not participating or don’t have anything that fits the theme? No problem! Students should simply wear their regular school uniform.

We can’t wait to see our Patriots make their mark and fill Pulaski with DOTS! 🔴🟡🟢🔵🟣

🍴🌎 SHARE YOUR FAMILY RECIPE WITH PULASKI! 🌎🍴

Pulaski families, what's a dish that tastes like home to your family? ❤️

As part of our Hispanic Heritage Celebration on September 30, we're creating a Family Recipe Exchange featuring recipes shared by YOU!

🥘 We especially invite our Hispanic and Latino families to share recipes that celebrate their culture, heritage, and traditions—but ALL Pulaski families are invited to participate!

Whether your recipe represents your culture, has been passed down through generations, is part of a special family tradition, or is simply something everyone in your house loves, we want it!

Share a main dish, side, appetizer, dessert, bread, drink, or another family favorite. You can also tell us the story behind your recipe and upload a photo. 📸

✨ No cooking required—you are only sharing the recipe!

During our celebration, families will be able to discover recipes and traditions from throughout our Pulaski community and take home some new ideas to try.

🚀 2026–27 Parent Literacy Project: Build Your Confidence. Support Your Child’s Reading.

SCCPSS families have an opportunity to strengthen their own literacy skills while learning simple, practical strategies to support their child’s reading success at home.

Through the Parent Literacy Project, participating parents and caregivers can:

📖 Strengthen reading, writing, and communication skills
🏠 Learn practical ways to help their child grow as a reader
💻 Receive one-on-one support through virtual sessions with dedicated tutors
💙 Learn in a welcoming, judgment-free environment

Who can apply? Families who participate in Ignite or other SCCPSS initiatives, are committed to participating consistently, and want to build confidence and skills when reading with or to their children are encouraged to apply.

Participants must also be able to take part in the program’s assessment, orientation, and twice-weekly tutoring sessions.

⭐ Spaces are limited. If more families apply than spaces are available, a lottery will be used to ensure a fair selection process.

Interested families can contact their child’s school or community referring partner for more information and application assistance.

We’re excited to take the next step in building our Pulaski K8 PTA, and we want YOU to be part of it!

Then, join us on Tuesday, October 6 at 5:00 PM for our PTA General Chartering Meeting. During the meeting, families and staff will:

⭐ Participate in the PTA chartering process
🗳️ Elect PTA officers
📋 Vote on our local unit bylaws

Whether you’re interested in serving, volunteering, sharing ideas, or simply staying connected, we hope you’ll be part of building our PTA from the very beginning!

Unfortunately, the military gate will not be open, but we still hope to see our military families there!

💬 Want to learn more about the PTA before the chartering meeting? Be sure to stop by and speak with PTA representatives at our Learning Launch Party tomorrow! This is a great opportunity to ask questions, learn how you can get involved, and find out what PTA can mean for our Pulaski community.

We want to take a moment and say Congratulations to our Girls Flag Football Team on a wonderful showing at their jamboree on Tuesday (09/02)! We are so proud of our girls and excited about what’s ahead this season!

A huge THANK YOU to Coach Curry, Coach Lindeman, Coach Reggie, and Coach Cam for the hard work, time, dedication, and energy you continue to pour into our student-athletes. Your commitment does not go unnoticed!

We can’t wait for a GREAT season!

🎒 Pulaski Families: Check Those Backpacks!

An important Title I document is coming home with your child TODAY!

Your child is bringing home their Grade Level School-Family Compact. This document outlines how students, families, and school staff work together to support student success throughout the school year. ❤️💙

📋 Your Family To-Do List:
1️⃣ Review the compact with your child.
2️⃣ You AND your child sign the colored Signature Page.
3️⃣ Return the signed page to your child’s teacher by Friday, September 11.

🍧 There’s a little extra motivation, too!
The first class to return ALL completed signature pages will earn a Popsicle Party, and their teacher will earn Dress Down Passes! 🎉 So don’t let your class be waiting on you!

We are also sharing our 2026–2027 Family Engagement Policy digitally. It explains Title I at Pulaski, how we partner with families, opportunities to get involved throughout the year, and resources available to support your family.

ATTENTION PARENTS & GUARDIANS:

All student medications must be picked up from the nursing clinic by Thursday, May 21, 2026. This includes epi pens, seizure meds, insulin, inhalers, nebulizers, routine/prn meds, feminine care bags, etc. You may pick them up from the nursing office from 7:15 am to 2:30 pm. Medications not picked up by May 21, 2026 will be taken to SCCPSS/BOE for disposal per Board policy. Pulaski Patriots
