Dear SVA Class of 1987,
I hope this finds you all very well.
I am guessing that many of you may have heard by now that we have a lost a treasure. Sr. M. Jude Walsh, RSM, passed away on December 7, 2020.
I just wanted to see if there was interest in our class coming together to send a memorial gift to SVA in honor of Sr. Jude. The Convent restoration project is moving along and they could use all the help we could give. If you could kindly give me your opinions on this, I would appreciate it. My cell is 912-655-8245. I will also try to send this in an email to the class.

After much deliberation, the Sisters of Mercy have chosen to postpone Sr. Jude’s wonderful celebration of life that was scheduled for Friday December 11, 2020 in the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist due to concerns over COVID-19. SVA will hold our annual school wide Christmas prayer service for our students on Friday in the SVA courtyard. We will include a celebration of Sr. Jude's life and will post a link on our page on Friday.

This event is going to be beautiful y'all!

Tubby’s Tank House & Live Oak Restaurant Group will host the Quarterly SVA Alumnae Association BINGO Social on Thursday, October 25, 2018, 6:30pm. All alumnae and guests are encouraged to join for festive beverages (cash bar) and fellowship. 20% of all sales from the evening will be donated to the SVA Alumnae Association. St. Vincent’s Academy Announces New GRACE Scholarship Coordinator

For Immediate Release January 22, 2018: Diane Ciucevich Parker has joined the St. Vincent's staff as the new GRACE Scholarship Coordinator. As a member of the SVA class of 1987, Diane is thrilled to return to her alma mater in this capacity. Diane brings a great deal of fundraising, donor acquisition, and public relations skills from over 20 years in the non-profit sector. In addition, Diane has a unique understanding of the critical needs of the educational system as she has taught on the middle, high, and college levels. Diane earned her Masters of Adolescent/Adult Education and Community Leadership with a concentration in Literacy from Armstrong State University. She also holds a Teaching Certificate (T-5 with an English endorsement) from Armstrong. Diane completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Georgia’s Henry W. Grady College of Journalism & Mass Communication with a major in public relations and a minor in English. In 2015 Diane completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training obtaining her Registered Yoga Teacher certification. She has been delighted to share her love of meditation and yoga with the freshmen and sophomores as part of the PE curriculum the last two years.

Diane is ready for the challenge of recruiting GRACE donors as she sees it as the perfect opportunity to give back to the Sisters of Mercy who have given her so much. As a scholarship recipient, Diane is eternally grateful for the financial assistance offered to her during her time at St. Vincent’s. Without this aid her dreams of receiving a Mercy education would have ended her sophomore year.�

Diane is married to her high school sweetheart, Keith Parker (BC class of 1987). They have one son, Jed, who is a senior at Benedictine. Diane and her family are members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In her spare time Diane enjoys practicing yoga, taking long walks with her beloved beagle- Gunner, kayaking, junking, and reading for hours on end.
