Study Abroad reflections. Favorite experiences in Ghana through pictures and thoughts:

Joshua- having conversations with the kids in the school to see what their life was like outside of school and to see what motivated them to continue to do well in life and pursue their dreams. This is a photo I took of them with two soccer balls I brought for them because they had nothing to play with in their village.

Zyriah-introducing the students to American games, one of them being Red Light, Green Light. It took them a little while to understand the game, but once they figured it out, they loved it and wanted to keep playing.

Destiny: These are my favorite right now. The first one because of how the little children were watching Dr. Davis and Deloach and they seemed really interested it just shows that we should continue this program for the children in the future and the second picture because I just feel so connected to the kids they just made me feel so welcomed and even when I see them in the village they run up to me and say hello Madam Destiny 😁😁

Jaiden- I definitely can say that the picture of me and the kids being drum majors was my favorite experience this week.

Veronika- living in the village with them. My heart is so full and it’s only been a week,

Deloach- We taught 4 seamstresses who will make them (reusable pads) in the village and host trainings for others.

Putting your donations of handheld sewing machines to work today in Ghana and teaching young ladies how to sew! We do life changing work when we study abroad at Savannah State!

When you send an SSU Drum Major to Ghana he just can’t help but teach the next generation!

They have arrived in the village yesterday and are already in the classroom! Study Abroad Ghana

Now the journey begins! After orientation and a good nights sleep it’s time for the 12 hour van ride to Nakpanduro where they will settle in for 2 weeks of service learning! But first they’ll visit the KFC for their last restaurant meal for a while.
