During the online registration (OLR) process, many parents or guardians of students who are new to Hardin County Schools requested that their student be allowed to attend a school outside of the zone in which they live.
If you made such a request, and you have provided Hardin County Schools all required enrollment documentation, an email concerning your student’s enrollment for the 2022-2023 school will be sent by Wednesday, July 20, 2022.
Please make sure to monitor the email address that you used to set up your ParentVue account so you will know the status of your student’s enrollment.
If you have not provided all required enrollment documentation, please bring all required documentation to the Hardin County Board of Education and see Mrs. Tammy Stricklin so your child’s enrollment can be completed.
It is of utmost importance that parents or guardians of incoming Kindergartners, and any students new to Hardin County Schools, register their student for the 2022-2023 school year.
To register your student for the upcoming school year, please log into your ParentVue account and choose Online Registration for 2022-2023. If you have not created a ParentVue account, follow the “Registration” link at the top of our district website at www.hardincoschools.com.
The online registration process allows a parent or guardian to take a picture of and upload the following documents which are required by state law to enroll a student:
• A birth certificate or officially acceptable evidence of date of birth at the time of registration;
• Evidence of a current medical examination;
• Evidence of state-required immunization; and
• Proof of legal residency in Hardin County
Mrs. Tammy Stricklin is available at the Hardin County Board of Education to assist any parent or guardian that does not have reliable internet access or needs help registering their student.
Please call the Hardin County Board of Education at 925-3943 to set up an appointment with Mrs. Tammy. She is now taking appointments for the following dates:
• Monday, July 11
• Tuesday, July 12
• Wednesday, July 13
Failing to register your student by Wednesday, July 13 could mean that your student might not be able to start school on time in August and fall behind academically.
It is also important that parents or guardians of current Hardin County Schools’ students register their student as well. This will allow the student’s school to have an updated address, phone number, emergency contact information, as well as, other important information that is obtained during the online registration process.

Our Northside students and their families had a fun filled STEAM night recently.
Under the leadership of our 5th Grade STEAM Club members, our families learned more about coding, circuits, problem-solving, and much more!
It was a great night of learning!
Students also took home STEAM kits so they could do fun activities outside of school.

Community Helpers
West Hardin Pre-K students took a field trip to Savannah in April to visit some Community Helpers!
Students visited Savannah Fire Station, where they climbed on the fire truck 🚒, sprayed a fire hose, and met the fire dog, Sully!
They also met police officers from the Savannah Police Department and enjoyed sitting in the back of a police car and wearing handcuffs.
Next, they visited Hardin Medical Center 🏥 where they saw X-rays, explored an ambulance 🚑, watched a helicopter 🚁 land, and enjoyed lunch in the HMC Café.
Finally, they made a stop at the Hardin County Library for story time. 📚
It was a very full and fun day!
Thanks to Savannah Fire Department, Savannah Police Department, Hardin Medical Center, and the Hardin County Library for being such wonderful hosts for these little learners!🙏 ❤️

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating numerous hoax calls concerning schools across the state, including Hardin County High School. TBI tweeted the following Wednesday morning,
"TBI is currently working with state and federal partners to determine the source of several hoax calls, placed to local law enforcement agencies, reporting an active shooter at several high schools in the state. At this time, none of these reports has proven credible and there is no known immediate threat to public safety at this time."
Director of Hardin County schools Michael Davis wants to ensure parents that their children are safe. "There is no truth to the calls that the Savannah Police Department received regarding an active shooter at the high school. The call is an hoax and unfortunately have been made to many schools across Tennessee including ours," said Davis.
Davis added that the number the police department received regarding an active shooter was not local and that the caller claimed the shooter had already been on campus. "There was no threat that something would be happening later, and no truth that there had been someone at the school threatening students' safety."
Savannah Police Chief Michael Pitts is working with state and federal investigators in attempts to try to trace the hoax call and the department is also working with the Hardin County Sheriff's Department. The Savannah Police Department reports that the city and county have extra law enforcement personnel in each school as a precaution, and at this time the school system is not under lockdown.
UPDATE:
We have learned of additional events of these attempts across Tennessee including this one from Murfreesboro:
Murfreesboro PD just received a swatting call via 911 from 806-702-4743. Arabic male reported a student armed with a gun at Rockvale High School had shot 6 people. The dispatcher reported that the voice sounded as if it was electronic/robotic but did respond to questions.

Hardin County Schools utilizes an online registration process which allows parents or guardians to register their student using an internet-connected device.
