The Explorers Academy - formerly the Junior University - will offer an enriching experience for students during the summer months. These camps provide a diverse range of courses in English/Language Arts, mathematics, social studies, world languages, and advanced placement (AP) preparation. Our innovative approach to learning incorporates game-based activities, hands-on experiments, and STEM projects to enhance students' understanding and enjoyment of the subjects.
Key Features:
Comprehensive Curriculum: Our camps focus on developing essential academic skills such as reading, writing, critical thinking, and problem-solving, while also fostering executive function skills like time management, flexibility, and organization.
Small Class Sizes: With a limited number of students per class, our experienced instructors can provide individualized attention and support to maximize student learning and engagement.
Experienced Staff: Our camp instructors are highly qualified educators with expertise in their respective subject areas, dedicated to creating a positive and stimulating learning environment for all participants.
Hands-On Learning: Through hands-on experiments, interactive projects, and collaborative activities, students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts and develop a deeper understanding of the material.
Grades 3β5 focus on Discover with hands-on Makers Lab activities, French and Spanish language exposure, enrichment in English language arts, math, and science, and community-based design challenges.
Grades 6β8 focus on Innovate with weekly CTAE pathway rotations such as Culinary Arts, Agriculture, and Future Skills, along with real-world problem solving, world language development, and leadership experiences.
Grades 9β12 focus on Apply and Launch with AP Bootcamp experiences, CTAE pathway exploration in areas such as Culinary Arts, Agriculture, and Future Skills, and college and career readiness skills.
Program highlights include daily academic and CTAE integration, weekly career pathway rotations, world language opportunities at every level, leadership and collaboration activities, daily lunch, and transportation.
The program will take place June 1-18 Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Savannah Early College High School. $100 fee includes lunch and transportation
