Godley Station K8 School

GSS Dress Down Days are here again. Please read and review the information on school cash before choosing. You have the option to pay for the entire year of school dress down dates up front, or by each semester or if you prefer, you can pay for each date individually. Please do not make multiple selections. All purchases are non-refundable for dress down days. There are 21 Schoolwide Dress Down days for the 26/27 school year. The cost for an Annual Pass is $22, cost for 1st Semester Pass is $11.60 and for each individual date the cost is $1.20.

Upcoming sports tryouts for Cross Country, Softball, Flag Football, and Football will start to begin this week. Look specifically for your start time of your sport.
Key items include exact dates, times, and rules for student participation.
Remember all athletes need a sports physical on file with Coach King.

Tryout Schedule
Cross Country: August 10–12, 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM.

Softball: August 10–12, 3:00 PM – 4:30

Girls Flag Football: August 6, 7, and 10, 3:00 PM – 4:30

Football (7th & 8th grade boys): August 5 & 6 (see coach Darke), 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM at West Chatham Middle School (WCMS) Gym.
Note: Football dismisses the regular way home as practice is off-site.
Important Guidelines

Student Dismissal: Students remain in homeroom until called at 3:00 PM to change clothes.
Attendance Policy: Tryouts are closed to spectators, parents, and siblings. No siblings may stay after school for practices.
Required Gear: Bring appropriate athletic attire, necessary equipment, and water.
Student Pick Up: Outside of the gym in the parking lot on Spring Lakes side. (Students will walk out)

Football will dismiss the regular way home as they do not practice here.

👮🏾‍♂️ Meet Officer Jeffery X. Walker, Jr.! 💙

He proudly serves Godley Station K8 School!

Officer Walker has been in law enforcement for 19 years, including 3 years as a School Resource Officer. He has been apart of Godley Station K-8 for 2 years.

Before becoming a police officer, Officer Walker served as a mentor in juvenile corrections and worked in the mental health field.

🎶 Fun Fact: Officer Walker has a passion for music!

📚 Favorite Subject: Math! Officer Walker enjoyed the challenge of solving problems and thinking critically.

Kona Ice is coming!
Kona Ice will be at GSS on Friday, August 21st. Parents may pre-purchase KONA ICE for their child through the QR code below. The link to pre-purchase expires at midnight on Thursday, August 20th. Once pre-purchased, teachers will be notified the morning of the visit that the student has already paid online. Students may also bring exact cash if desired to purchase directly from the truck. Students paying cash must have money in their classrooms before 10 am.

New this year, KONA ICE is offering a "SEASON PASS" that will allow parents to purchase one pass for their child to receive KONA ICE during every visit this school year. This pass is only available until midnight on August 20th. Once the first visit happens, this offer will no longer be available. The dates for KONA ICE this year are as follows:
August 21, September 25, October 29, December 4,
January 29, March 12, April 16, May 14
