Thank you Mrs. Shiver for sharing what you have used your PTA grant money for in previous years. This is why we work hard to raised funds during the Fun Run!!!

Kindergarten is so thankful for our PTA! We want to sincerely thank PTA for your generous classroom grants and for your continued support of our kindergarten students and teachers. Your generosity allows us to provide meaningful learning experiences that go beyond traditional classroom materials.
In kindergarten, so much learning happens through hands-on activities and purposeful play. We use our grant funds to purchase engaging materials, games, manipulatives, learning centers, art supplies, and other resources that allow our students to explore, create, problem-solve, and learn while having fun. PTA purchased magic writing boards for our students, and these boards helped increase our writing skills. SO much fun!
These grants help us bring learning to life and give our students opportunities that would not be possible without our grant funds support. We are incredibly grateful for everything PTA does for our classrooms and our school!

Our amazing music teacher and chorus director, Ms. Hartley, shared this with us about how she has used her grant money.

The music room has benefited tremendously from the support provided through PTA grants. These grants have allowed me to purchase valuable resources that enhance our students’ musical experiences and provide them with more opportunities for hands-on learning. With PTA funding, I have been able to purchase a new parachute, colorful scarves, additional sets of Boomwhackers, ribbon streamers, and amplifiers for our electric guitars and bass guitars. These resources are used regularly in our music classes and have helped create a more engaging, interactive, and inclusive learning environment for our students. The generosity of the PTA has made a meaningful difference in our music program and has provided students with instruments and materials that might otherwise not have been possible to purchase.

Mrs. Giddens was so kind to write this wonderful summary of what she has been able to use her PTA grants for in the past. All of this is funded by the money raised from our Fun run.

We are incredibly grateful to our JGS PTA for the grants you have provided in the past. Your generosity has made a meaningful difference in our classroom by giving students opportunities to learn through hands-on experiences, creativity, and exploration.
Last spring while studying Colonial America, our 3rd grade GEP students were able to enjoy butter they made themselves using mason jars, heavy cream and salt. The students took turns shaking the mason jars to make butter! We also explored sour dough bread making and were able to enjoy freshly made bread and homemade butter- a treat for all! We also learned about Colonial games and art. 3rd grade students also used grant funded watercolor paints and paper to make Colonial art.
These resources funding through our PTA grants do more than fill our classrooms—they create memorable learning experiences, encourage curiosity, and help students develop skills that extend beyond the lesson. Thank you for investing in our students and supporting the teachers who work to make learning meaningful every day!

PTA Grant Impact Summary
I am INCREDIBLY grateful for the numerous PTA grants I have received to support and enhance our STEM/STEAM learning experiences at JGS. These grants have provided funding for a wide variety of materials and resources that have transformed our STEAM Lab into a hands-on, engaging, and creative learning environment. They have had an enormous positive impact on my program and are so immensely appreciated!
Grant funding has helped provide picnic tables for outdoor learning and Garden Program materials including soil, tools, storage containers, hoses, timers, and hose reels. The funds allowed us (me and the master gardener volunteers) to continue the garden program last year at the swing site by purchasing metal container gardens. They have also provided STEM activities, Kahoot (used for engaging standards reviews) and STEM teacher subscriptions, along with many other materials used for hands-on projects, experiments (SLIME at the end of each year) , engineering challenges, and creative activities. These resources give students opportunities to explore, design, build, problem-solve, collaborate, and learn through meaningful experiences.
The PTA’s generous support has allowed me to create memorable learning opportunities that extend beyond traditional classroom instruction. Whether students are working in the garden, completing an engineering challenge, conducting an experiment, or participating in a fun Friday STEM activity, these materials help make learning exciting, interactive, and accessible.
I sincerely appreciate the PTA for investing in our students and supporting innovative STEM education. Your continued generosity has made a meaningful difference in our STEAM Lab and has helped create countless opportunities for students to learn, explore, create, and have fun while discovering the possibilities of STEAM education. A heartfelt and sincere THANK YOU to all who help make this possible!!

Mrs. Shea , our library media technology specialist, has shared some of the items she has received from her PTA grants with the funds raise from the Fun Run.

My grant that year purchased the two gray chairs, the coffee table, the orange throw, and the rug. The "comfy chairs" for pleasure reading. 🙂 The book displays were purchased from our library supply vendor. We love them! ❤️
