🌍 Meet the Class of 2026–2027!
Meet Rebecca Fan, our 2026-2027 GRSP scholar from China, who is spending this year in Georgia at the University of Toccoa Falls as part of our 80-year tradition of bringing nations together. 🌏💙 Rebecca is embracing new experiences, building friendships, and sharing her talents—including her love of music and piano. 🎹 We are incredibly grateful to the Rotary Club of Toccoa for sponsoring Rebecca and helping make this experience possible. 🌍💙 What does peace look like?
It looks like students from different countries sharing a meal, exploring a new community, laughing together, and becoming lifelong friends. Every year, GRSP scholars remind us that peace is built through understanding. For 80 years, the Georgia Rotary Student Program has helped create understanding between people, cultures, and nations through the simple but powerful act of friendship. Through partnerships with Rotary clubs across Georgia and around the world, GRSP creates opportunities for cultural exchange, meaningful connections, and friendships that transcend borders. Today, on the International Day of Peace, we celebrate the students, host families, Rotarians, coordinators, and alumni who continue to make that mission possible. Because when we bring nations together, we bring the world a little closer together, too. 🌎✨

Aug 27 - Our club welcomed two of our new and former GRSPs. Celebrating 80 years of bringing nations together. Savannah area Rotary Clubs hosted Conclave 2026, which featured 38 new scholars from 20 countries, attending 23 colleges and universities in Georgia sponsored by 78 Rotary Clubs. Beverly Trainor, District 6920 Governor opened the event with a powerful message on the impact Rotarians have on their communities as well as other countries.
GRSP alumni, Aarhus Rotarian and Danish coordinator Birgitte Illum (Class of 1989-90) shared her perspective as a scholar, parent and coordinator on Friday evening. Nipuna Ampanpola (Class of 2015-16) delivered the key note address on Saturday, encouraging the group to build their network within Rotary to create lasting change. Scholars and Rotarians scattered throughout the historic city Sunday for a scavenger hunt before departing for their respective schools across the state.

Aristi has arrived from Cyprus JUST IN TIME for Conclave this weekend in Savannah. This Berry College girl will join 37 other scholars as we celebrate our program bringing nations together for 80 years. 🇨🇾🌍🦌✈️🇺🇸🌴
